hi there,
I have a 1 and a half year old exotic Persian who has nipples that are risen, hard, and crusty.
i thought she was pregnant but she may just be becoming obese. (I do have a tom but hes short legged and i’m not sure they can figure it out quite yet…)
She was diagnosed with walking dandruff when i got her, and she was treated with topical bravecto. Her legs lost a lot of hair from these mites previously but...

Hi everyone. I still regularly check this site even though I hardly post anymore.
Today, I received very devastating news about my dear Snowy, and would like to hear what others have to say.
So Snowy was diagnosed with HCM back in December of 2019 when he was 6. He is 9 going 10 now. And up until April 2023, his LA:Ao ratio is pretty stable at 1.3 : 1.
However, around June of last year it suddenly shot up to around 1.8 : 1.
In December, it actually went down slightly to 1.68 : 1. But just...

We noticed this today on our cat and it looks very sore
We know this girl has flea allergy dermatitis, the other night I realised her small scabs were coming back so I gave her the prescribed flea treatment from the vet. Today however we noticed this. I don't know if it's linked to the dermatitis or could be caused by something else?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I've put some cat safe gel ointment on it for now to help with any irritation.

I'm trying to give Whiskers a better variety of options for her meals. So recently my husband brought home some Stella and Chewy's chicken and salmon freeze dried dinner morsels. She likes them dry...She'll eat maybe 4 or 5 of them, no where near enough but I'll take it. Her weight needs more like 3/4 of a cup which would be around 20 but it's OK we're getting there. So what are your opinions on it? I can't seem to get her to like Tikicat much. Right now hjer dinner consists of a churu...

Hey team! I'm in search of a game plan.
I’ve got one indoor/outdoor cat (M, 3yo, fixed, healthy, 15lbs) who definitely has fleas, and I’m moving in about two months. From what I’ve read, that’s not enough time to totally eliminate a flea problem. If that’s not enough to worry about, my roommate’s dog has fleas and my roommate doesn’t have the money to medicate her.
My only real concern is getting my cat and my belongings into a u-haul flea-free. After that, the house isn’t my problem...

I'm probably worrying too much, so here goes...
A few weeks ago, my wife thought our oldest cat (12 yrs) gait was off. She admitted she could be crazy and I didn't really notice anything. But, since he's old, we figured we'd take him in anyways. I made an appointment for Monday, 4/1/2024.
The morning of 3/30/2024 (Saturday), he came down in the morning and he was limping real bad. His front right paw was knuckled under. He let us touch is leg and he was eating normally. We made an...

I recently noticed dark brown specks on my cat’s lower belly in between his back legs. These specks are mainly on the skin, not in his fur, and they don’t come off easily. He’s an indoor cat and I’ve checked the rest of his body for fleas/flea dirt but haven't found anything. It seems like he’s licked this area so much that he’s lost most of his fur there. He already has dry and flaky skin, so I’m not sure if this is related or if it’s something that I should be concerned about. Could it...

My two year old cat Monty is most likely going to be on Prednisolone (steroids) for the rest of his life because of IBD. He was just recently diagnosed with Feline Herpes Virus. I have read some things about steroids and the herpes virus and it does not sound good. Since the steroids suppress the immune system i guess it may not allow the herpes virus to go dormant. One website said that if a cat is one steroids and had the herpes virus that they will have a shortened life span. Just...

I'm worried she might have a hairball stuck in her stomach that is making her feel full so she doesn't eat. Is this a possibility? I'm going to call the vet tomorrow but was hoping for some more instant advice on this.
She was retching a few times yesterday but nothing came of it. She's also been tired and sleeps a lot but she's done that since we got her ..read more
