Suggestions for Denon DP400 cartridge

Hello! I have recently acquired a Denon DP400. The cartridge is broken so I need to replace it. It is compatible with both MM and MC but I have been reading rave reviews about Ortofon 2M Blue and Sumiko Rainier. Which one is better? Also, would I be able to mount the stylus on the existing head shell or would I need to buy the head shell as well? Sorry if I don’t know the basics - I’m very new to this. submitted by /u/Hopeful_Work5723 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

A bought a used turntable which - at first - sounded fine. I quickly noticed tho, that there was a loud constant background sound - like the needle was scratching the vinyl, so i took it to a repair shop. The sound dissapeared, and the techincians couldnt find anything else that might be wrong with the turntable, but still my turntable doesnt always sound right. When the tones are too shrill (a high pitched guitar for example) it just doesnt sound right. Ive tested my records on other turntables where the problem isnt present. I have no idea what i need to fix, but obviously something.. does ..read more

Need to replace my P30 stylus on a P30 cartridge. Someone is selling me a Pioneer PN-800 which supposedly fits the P30 cart. I did all the research I could but have not seen anything to confirm or deny that claim, if anyone on here has more info please let me know. Thank you! submitted by /u/WoahIsThatAnEvo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Turntables that can receive Bluetooth?

This will sound laughable to audiophiles, but I'm wondering if there are any turntables that can also act as an "interface" between my phone and the speakers connected to the turntable. It would be a dream to be able to play my favourite records while also having the option of playing Spotify, all on the same speakers. submitted by /u/Manugarcc [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Crooked cartridge/stylus?

Can anyone confirm if this cartridge is crooked? I recently changed the cartridge on my Technics SL1300 and records play fine and don't notice any difference in sound quality. Only concern is there might be excessive groove wearing if the stylus isn't correctly aligned. Thanks submitted by /u/ColinCookie [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi everyone I have recently started collecting vinyl and I am looking to create a better setup (I just have a suitcase record player at the moment). I have been considering getting the Fluance RT82, but I know that it does not come with a built in preamp. What would be the best preamp and powered speakers that are budget friendly? submitted by /u/Weary-Adeptness6831 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
