I know some of you guys find this stuff interesting, so I’m going to collect the pictures n stuff here.
First up: the arrival.
Very well packed with no “new” damage apparent. Platter was removed, as was the headshell and counterweight. Nice pack job.

I can hear the motor running on my MH turntable and there is scorching on the motor shaft. I am the original owner and didn't play it to death ,I have other TT's. The motor is still playing at the right speed . Does the motor shaft scorching indicate that the oil impregnated bushing has dry out ? Is this motor repairable ? I found Bluz Bros website and they drop in replacement motors, any suggestions?, thanks ..read more

Finally started by doing the disassembly of the TT and I'm starting with the motor assembly. First thing, the 2uf oil filled motor start cap is leaking so I need to address that right off the bat. Anybody got suggestions? I'm sure it needs to be there as the motor is pretty big. Does it need to be oil filled or can something be sub'd in? I'd like to keep it period correct but I hate oil caps ..read more

I scored a cart, an XV-15 with the original used stylus (a 625e) and I was wondering since the original NOS stylus is probably unobtanium on the open market, has anybody had one re-tipped, and if yes, do they replace the suspension/cantilever when re-tipping or do they just replace the needle? Everything I read is saying although the replacement stylus/styli sound pretty nice, they cant exactly copy the originals and don't sound as good as the originals...... Anybody???
I see some...
