I got this M3 MacBook Pro 3 months ago, and the internal audio input has worked fine, but all of a sudden, it barely picks up audio. I went into the settings and turned the input all the way up, and it still doesn't work. Siri can still pick up what I say, except for the wake word, but every app and every setting is telling me the internal input isn't picking up enough ..read more

Hi, I've not been using apple much for the last few years, but i currently have a mac only app that i need to use quite a bit. I've decided to connect to my M1 MBA with chrome remote desktop from my main desktop, which is working fine, except that it's unable to scale to my wide monitor. When adjusting the display settings in system preferences it tries (successfully) to reload, but then immediately reverts the settings to suit the built in display. I don't want to go too deep on this, but i was wondering if anyone has any quick tips to sort this. I'm thinking either to use a different rdp t ..read more

Which MacBook should I buy?

I'm hoping if you guys could offer me some advices as in which MacBook to buy. I'm currently using a 13 inch MacBook Air with 16G RAM that I bought back in 2019. It is unfortunately starting to get slow and occasionally glitchy, and the battery also doesn't last nearly as long as it used to. I'm planing to do a master's program in finance later this year, and I will be doing some projects using R and Python. It is not a super quant rigorous program and I don't think I'll be doing anything like machine learning though. Other than that, I don't do video or music editing (except Adobe Lightroo ..read more

Question about cases and hinge durability

I just recently purchased a MacBook Pro M3 alongside a plastic/hardshell case to go along with it. I've been noticing that the piece that covers the exterior of the screen causes the screen to droop when under at least a 45° angle. While not functionally bothersome, I am a bit concerned about the hinges longevity and was wondering if this would cause a bad effect down the line with loose hinges ..read more

Hi everyone, I'm buying a macbook soon for my studies. I'm heading for the basic Air M3 for now but I'm a little concerned about the RAM and the SSD. Being a editor, I also need to deal with a lot of RAW video etc. Will the basic Macbook Air M3 be able to manage that ? Should I buy more RAM or SSD or simply upgrade to a Macbook Pro M3 (is the cost difference worth it ?) ? Thank you ..read more

Hello guys Yes i know there are other threads about this topic but i still haven't found a clear solution. I ordered a Macbook Pro M3 Pro i should be able to use it with two external monitors. But which dock do i use? I don't want to use a displayport dock because it will virtualize the monitors and this is not as efficient as a native connection. I know that MacOS does sadly still not support MST (why Tim Apple why?...) . I read on a website that you can use a HP G2 Dock with MST to connect one display to displayport and the other via TB to Displayport on the TB port on the dock and it will ..read more

Hello, so I would like to replace the battery on my mid 2014 MacBook Pro as it says service recommended and doesn't hold a charge as well, and would like to get an idea of how much it might cost to have someone put a new battery in. I mainly use the computer for web browsing and watching videos and would like to use it as long as I can. So does anyone have an estimate of what it might cost to have the battery replaced and maybe just to do some general maintenance in the US, to make sure it's running smoothly. One other thing I have an issue with, is that the computer gets hot 180-200F when do ..read more

Soon to be law student who needs to make a quick decision regarding which device to buy as boxing day sales are tomorrow. I’m not sure if I should get a macbook air or a surface pro. My sister has a macbook pro and says the battery life is awful but it’s fine apart from that. My brother has a surface pro and says it’s way too slow. I don’t know what to get, I’m not fussy but I need something that won’t slow down and I’ll be working with a lot of documents and doing a lot of research and typing ..read more
