I'm having a weird problem with the Atari800 emulator.  I use the native Linux version of Atari800 for my 5200 emulation and it usually works great but recently I've noticed that when I'm in Atari 5200 mode the start button (F4) no longer works.  All the other 5200 controller buttons seem to work, but not Start.  When I switch to any Atari 8-Bit computer the start button (F4) works as expected.  The problem is only under 5200 mode.   Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?  Is there some sort of setup or button mapping I can do?  The only thing I can see ..read more

I've been running my emulator on Mame .170 for a very long time (obviously)  Decided to try to upgrade to the latest .264.  But duplicating the general settings, the trackball on my X-Arcade isn't working at all on the new version.  Not even sure what to check at this point.  It's just supposed to be a mouse.  The trackball even moves in the interface, just not the games!     ..read more

I think my Anbernic RG353M is awesome and I use it all the time.  The screen is a great size for keeping the device pocketable and super portable.  For most of my on-the-go gaming, I'm happy with the size.   That said, if I'm going somewhere where I might be playing for an hour or a couple of hours, it's nicer to play on a larger screen, especially for consoles that were designed to be displayed on bigger screens.   I went on Amazon and picked up a couple of things to take advantage of the HDMI out on the device, and now I have a portable setup with a 15.6" 1080p lightweigh ..read more

Went through the entire command line help page, and didn't see it, but thought I'd give it a shot. Is there a way to assign a specific speed on a per game basis using the command line? I don't mean the Warp speed, as that's easily mapped to a joystick button and insanely fast for what I need. I'm looking to run certain games at say, 120% of the normal speed. You can manually adjust the speed in Altirra with the slider. Hi folks..I'm normally good with emulators, I know Altirra forwards and backwards, but it's been years since I played with MAME. So here's the scenario, I went and got all the needed arcade games I was missing, I noticed that the Internet Archive has a claimed full set of the software list images. Many hours later I got the lot. Now I presume they are as the emulator expects, ie directory called a800 with a another folder of the named game with a zip file in that. I have version 4.20.  Black Hawk rom(s) [I tried a few], all load up to the helicopter intro screen. Then black. Nothing happens.  What is strange is that when I look at the drives attached, the image is not there. I freely admit to being an ignorant ass when it comes to stuff like this but I can usually bumble my way along and figure it out. But after spending a long time I'm can't get anywhere with getting a game to load. I don't want the whole library just a few of my favorite arcade games.    I'm assuming that the red message means files are just incomplete or missing files so it won't boot the game? I recently got an Atari 2600+ and I was playing California Games.  I noticed that when you play in competition mode, the game will not advance from biking to surfing.  I first assumed it was an Atari 2600+ bug, but then I fired up my Raspberry PI with Batocera and Stella and it exhibits the same behavior.  This leads me to believe it is a Stella bug.  Can anyone out there verify this?   ..read more
