The landscape is my jump-off point. My visual springboard. My point of departure. This year has seen any distinction between “in person” and “online” be challenged, reimagined, and reinvented. Technology has allowed many to maintain livelihoods, now at a safe distance. The art world is no different. Any barriers to buying art online that may have existed in the past are gone. Galleries make little distinction between online and in-person sales channels. During the summer of 2018, I was fortunate to spend a month traveling through Europe with my family. Starting in the UK, we made our way through The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Beyond spending time with my family, the food, driving a stick shift over the Alps, the greatest joy was carving out time to paint.
