Hello everyone, I am having some issues with DVDs and my DVD camcorder. Some time ago I purchased a DCR DVD201 and got some TDK discs from Amazon for it. Those three discs all gave me a disc error. So I bought 6 new discs on Amazon (here) which were mostly working except for two of them. They worked fine on that camera. Hello! This camcorder was working perfectly fine but last night the white gear decided to stop spinning freely, when you open the tape tray the gears do a test spin, the black one spins hit not the white one. This is a JVC GR-DZ17. I have another jvc with the same mechanism for donor if I need it. Hi, I’m trying to transfer a bunch of mini dv tapes that were recorded on a DVX100a a dozen years ago. The problem is I own a 2021 macbook pro and the dongle to connect a Firewire 800 to a thunderbolt 2 (which then connects to thunderbolt 3 on my computer) has been discontinued. I can’t find it anywhere online new or used (all the posts them for sale are very old and the sellers don’t respond to my requests.) I want to transfer a bunch of tapes from mini DV to my PC. I don't have a camcoder anymore, but I will buy one, specifically for this project (any recommendations? I'd go for a cheap one on ebay). Question is, should I transfer the video over Firewire or USB? From memory, when I had transferred some videos over USB, the quality was crap, and with Firewire it was perfect.
