I have a Vixia HF G70 and would like help on night settings.  I tried M mode and changed the Aperture to f2.8, Shutter speed to 1/60 for 24fps, used Manual focus, and set the K to to 2800.  When shooting the Aurora Borealis I just had a black image.  I used the Low Light setting under the M mode.  I did get an image, but it did not look like much.  Tried Low Light M mode with Manual focus and still had no luck.  Any suggestions?  Anyone have any good tutorial links for night time video shooting?  Thanks ..read more

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I have an XA-75 Canon, which I've loved for the past nine months that I've had it. However, in the last couple of days, when I try to do a reporter "stand up," the camera loses focus of my face and focuses on the background. Needless to say, the stand ups are useless for my stories now.  Second issue: it started happening last week: the Manual Exposure menu started popping up on the LCD screen about 15 seconds after I turn the camera on. My Vixia camera is on a full charge, chimes when the viewer is opened, but the screen won't come on. The green light on the back is constantly on. I let all the power drain out of it then charged it. Got a doozy of a question/problem, HELP!!!! I have a canon vixia hf g50 and I have had it for over a year. I film for dance studios locally and their shows for the owners and parents. I filmed a high school dance show Friday night, no problem (on a 256 GB, I believe, SanDisk SD card). I go back for the Saturday night show and same SD card, about 85% of the show is over, with 3 dances left, I get a message on my camera saying can't record, please check memory card.
