The Branch 15 club in Salem, OR has a well-loved Cletrac F that I adopted for the winter to put it back in running condition. I will post some pictures later.
The track rollers ride on links and the rollers seem to have about 1/8" play in them (maybe a bit more) and I was told that this specific machine likes to throw a track when turning, but I don't know which one. I'm curious if the undercarriage is just worn out and that's what the issue is. One of the tracks is currently very loose and...

Anybody ever hear of it? I have 20 courses. Not sure how many for a full set. No mention of Rumley but makes me wonder. Seems to cover all types of engines and tractors. Even one on automobiles. Any idea on a value ..read more

As much as we all love this old equipment, prices are an inevitable part of the hobby. I was curious to hear other thoughts about the recently completed Pre-1930 Sale.
Fellow Stakker (jesters13) made mention in another thread of the prices the Twin City 20-35's were demanding at the sale. I thought the Minneapolis 17-30's were decent buys. The one IHC Autobuggy brought $72,000. Is that a record high? On another note, I always find it interesting seeing the same bidder number taking home...

So, seeing that the value of these Twin City tractors are not doing so great. I have a few of them all with engine issues. My 20-35 has a crack from a bad casting when it was made and over the year’s slowly started to crack and why it was parked years ago. I have a spare block to do an engine rebuild. But… seeing that I’m going to have more in motor parts than the tractor is worth not including labor and other things like Mag and carb. I’m thinking about putting the engines away in the barn...

There comes a time, when you top off the fuel tank , fill up the grease cups, and give everything else a shot of oil , open the shop door and go for a cruise… today was that day , and I did that twice !!!

It was a real pleasure to be on hand for the unveiling of a freshly mechanically restored Bates Tractor Co. tractor this past weekend. The tractor was restored by Clyde Hall and Lyle Stomp of Fillmore, Saskatchewan, two of the best tractor and steam traction engine mechanics around. I won't mention the owner's name for now, but he does look in here on Stak.
The tractor starts and runs perfectly. It worked on a fan for some time, and sounded beautiful.
In one photo below, you might be able...
