Scotland Rugby League is saddened to learn of the death of former Chairman, Keith Hogg, aged 66. All our thoughts are with his wife Victoria, their sons Alasdair, Ben and Matt, his sister Debbie, and the rest of his family. Keith was the chair of Scotland Rugby League from 2009 until 2021, when he stepped down due to health issues. He was a devoted and loyal member of the organisation. The eighth Wheelchair Rugby League Celtic Cup will take place on Sunday 18 June, at Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre, near Edinburgh. The hosts and Ireland will be looking to deny recent World Cup semi-finalists Wales a seventh consecutive title. The Wheelchair Player of the Year, who received the Graeme Stewart Award, named after Scotland Wheelchair RL pioneer Graeme Stewart, is Warrington Wolves star Callum Young. Young has picked up the Graeme Stewart for the first time following hi performances throughout 2022. Young scored his 100th point for Scotland during Scotland defeat to France, taking him to 3rd in the all time list of points scorers. Terrill picks up Student Player of the Year Award

The voting for the Roy Kinnear Award for Scotland Students Player of the Year was extremely tight again in 2022, following the Student Tri Nations last summer. Ben Morris, Connor Terrill and Oli Shakeshaft, were split by only a few votes from the Students Management team. The 2022 winner is Furness College and Barrow Raiders Conner Terrill. Terrill produced a string of great performances to help Scotland to finish 2nd behind England. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has published its 2023 Prohibited List. The Prohibited List designates the substances and methods that are prohibited in sport. Following an extensive consultation period by WADA, the 2023 Prohibited List was published on 29 September 2022. This gives athletes and support personnel sufficient time to make themselves aware of the changes, review any medications they use on Global DRO, and apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) if required before the updated List comes into effect on 1 January 2023. The dates have been announced for the men’s 2023 European Rugby League Championship A fixtures.
