Flying First Class from SEA to ATL...Lounge Question
FlyerTalk Forums » Alaska Airlines

Miles between SEATAC to ATL is 2180. This qualifies us to enter the lounge in Seattle, correct? Our flight is 3:50 PM but we will arrive at the airport around 10 AM. So it would be nice to be able to get into the lounge...without having to pay additional. I saw conflicting reports of qualifying entry for domestic flights at 2000 miles to 2100. Either way, 2180 should gain us access but I wondered if anyone with personal experience can chime in. Thanks in advance ..read more

AS is hoping to be awarded a beyond perimeter slot for DCA to fly SAN-DCA: Through the passage of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2024, five new flights were opened to increase direct service to our nation’s capital. Alaska Airlines intends to apply to the U.S. Department of Transportation for one of the new slot pairs to initiate service from San Diego, CA (SAN) to Washington, D.C.’s Reagan National Airport (DCA). I just looked into a mileage F ticket for early January and the itinerary I want popped up with 30K for main cabin and 80 K for first....great! However, when I get to the check out page there is a note under the left hand flight description that says "upgraded to first class." What is this? My worry immediately is that there will be no access to the lounge at SEA. This TPA-SEA with o/n and on to ANC the next morning. I am Club 49. There is no fare class shown at all. Called Alaska and the very nice agent has never seen this and cannot find any reference to it in her materials. Would like to ge ..read more

What would cause AS.com to offer me Saver and First Class, but not Main? (and who in their right mind would book Saver given that First Class is only $17 more... for a two segment trip) When the frugal traveler does choose Saver, AS.com tries to upsell to Main for the price of $NaN (Not a Number): And of course, it doesn't actually work ..read more

Booking a flight on AA with AS MVP status benefits

I’m a little confused as to what benefits are when you are an MVP on AS and booking an American flight on AA. It’s been a while since I’ve traveled with American, but my memory serves that when I bought a Main ticket, I eventually at some point got access to better seats and Priority boarding (Group 5, from what I remember). But it’s been a few years and they keep changing their fare bundles. Booking a Main fare on American allows you a checked bag and a Main Cabin seat. Booking a Main Plus allows you to book a seat with extra legroom. If you book Main, and once you enter your MVP#, does it a ..read more

I received a $90 Credit Cert yesterday from a flight change. It expires 1/1/25. Is there any advantage to moving it into my wallet? I suppose one could trade it on Coupon Connection or give it away if it isn't in the wallet. [T&C say: Credit certificates are non-transferable and will be forfeited if bartered or sold ..read more
