Hi, I can't start LibreOffice from the PortableApps.com Plataform. It displays the splash screen, no error message, and doesn't open, this is for any of the apps of the suite. The problem has been reported in previous topics: https://portableapps.com/node/67042 https://portableapps.com/node/68530 Those are old and they seem to have fixed it, but it this is happening to me now. Running Windows 11, everything is updated. I've tried moving to another folder like C:\Libreoffice but it still won't start. Important note, if I download and use the download from https://portableapps.com/apps/office/l ..read more

Hi John, I see in Outdated Official Portable Applications that you are currently building a "LibreOffice Legacy 7.5.9. This is confusing. As far as I am aware there are two 'editions' of LibreOffice — there is LibreOffice Fresh and LibreOffice Still. So what is LibreOffice 'Legacy'? Is this something new? Hi, on LO 7.6 everythings working fine, but after updating to LO 24.2.0 I have trouble with edit the options. I try to edit the options under "extra" > "options". Then my system runs und runs and runs - nothing happens. Ok - I close the app manually. After restarting LO I got a message about the crashing. I choose "safe mode" and LO started. When running the "options" again, the app hangs again. My first idea was a wrong java version, but I installed Java 1.8 in 32 bit from Oracle. (regular I use the java apps from zulu). It doesn't help... Any idea's ??? Note: I installed the LO 24 in 64 ..read more

Installing LibreOffice Portable on a device with regular LibreOffice?

If a Windows device has regular (non-portable) LibreOffice installed, can one also install and use LibreOffice portable? Or will this cause problems for one or both versions? The goal is to be able to easily use 2 different versions of LibreOffice without any fuss. My biggest concern is that if the portable version of LibreOffice is cleaning up all the LibreOffice registry keys it uses, that it will delete the registry keys that the installed version expects. Also, does the Windows version matter for the answer to this question? Forums: LibreOffice Portable ..read more

[Bug] LibreOffice Portable Still 7.5.7 Secondary Launchers Not Working

I have tested both on Windows 10 and 11 on two different computers both with 64-bit OS. All "direct" LibreOffice apps don't start with Portable Apps version of LibreOffice 7.5.7.1. I have tried with different install paths with new clean installation and it does not work no matter how I have changed the install path. The path C:\PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable7.5.7.1\ was for example used. It's the same behavior when starting from within the portableapps.com launcher as directly from installed path using windows explorer. It's the same behavior with: LibreOfficeBasePortable.exe LibreOfficeCa ..read more

Impress Portable: Sizable math files won't load/play
Portable Apps Forums » LibreOffice Portable

I have a set of several Impress files, heavy on math formulas/images, a little larger (~2M) than I normally use. The content was initially from the Pearson textbook publisher, in Powerpoint format, converted to Impress. These files work fine in my current version of Libre Office (7.6), but they fail in Portable Libre Office (7.6). Specifically: - At full size, the files fail to load in Libre Office Portable. (*) - If I split the files into about half-size sections, then they all load, but crash Libre Office Portable at some variable point into playing the slideshow. - If I split the files int ..read more
