@JoonHoss I need some input from you guys. I have the opportunity to pick up a 2 door 95 XJ. Looks clean from the listing pics. It is a manual transmission but only 2WD. Because it is 2wd it has been listed for a while. The price has dropped from $2,500 down to $1,500 OBO. I'm kind of thinking that if I can get it for $1,000 it may be worth picking up and converting to 4wd. I have a 1990 XJ Wagoneer that I bought non-running but complete for $150 some time ago. It is... 95 2 Door Manual 2WD conversion to 4WD ..read more

Hi Back in September we had to replace the exhaust pipe section that goes over the trans support just ahead of the main Cat converter. From NAPA. Pipe seemed thick and the flange bolt holes were larger than the one we had but no idea if the old one was stock or not. 140k on the clock now. It started to rattle a bit then got worse. Pictures show it from front and side. It is not touching when at rest. I replaced the middle rubber hanger. There is a center hanger which is a part of the... I pulled a tire and hub on my 87 Cherokee XJ I bought a couple of months ago the brakes look great neither wheel cylinder is leaking the hardware looks good and I have about half-life on the shoes the drum is smooth I am considering getting a set of shoes and swapping them out with a resurfacing of the drum. It says on the drum max is 10.060 so from that it would appear I have one more resurface before the drums would be a MAX. Is this a good plan of there something about the rear brakes on... I've only had my 98 XJ since last October and immediately after buying it the Throttle position sensor went out. When I replaced it a buddy of mine told me that Xjs are pretty hard on the TPS and to keep an extra on hand. Now just a few months later it went out again and i had to replace it. I'm not seeing any shorts or anything i can identify that would fry it so quickly. Are they really that bad and this is just something i can expect as it's an older vehicle or could there be another issue ..read more

Installing CB radio to ‘98 XJ Sport

To just get straight to the point, I’m trying to install a DC 13.8V CB radio (Royce 1-653B) in my Cherokee. Probably running it off of my old radio’s power supply cause it doesn’t work anymore. The radio has a PL-259 coax port that I want to try and rig to my radio antenna (To save the time and money of installing a new antenna). I don’t know what type of cord the stock antenna has already since it looks like it’s just the prong and no screw on bits. Would anyone know if there’s an adapter... My A/C blower fan stopped working on a 1992 XJ. When I checked the fuse it was melted. The blower fan never made any strange noises so I did not think it was the fan going bad. Checked he resistors under the glove compartment and one of the tabs was rusty. This probably caused the circuit to overheat. Changed out the resistor assembly and now everything works ..read more

I have a 2001 xj with crank no start. I replaced fuel rail, coil pack, fuel pump, battery, ecm after putting a new engine in (2000’s engine). I’m told that it could be a pinched wire or a sensor. What do you think it could be ..read more

1999 4.0 0630 head exhaust gasket which is it?

I'm wondering if I got the correct gasket due to leak. Weather I have a cracked header or just need the gasket I need to know the answer either way. I have 99 4.0 with 0630 head. I've got an aftermarket GXP eBay header. While early 92ish gaskets have the nice large round exhaust ports to match an aftermarket exhaust header pipe I'm concerned with overlapping on the intakes. Some say go with the early MS 94790 but there is a difference in size with the intake ports (I measured them at the... 1999 4.0 0630 head exhaust gasket which is it ..read more
