Hey everybody!
Well, the title of this thread pretty much spells it out. I'd like to meet some folks in my region who share my lifestyle. So if you're in the Pacific Northwest, more specifically Oregon, more specifically the Willamette Valley, then please, don't be shy! And if you're not, well shoot, say hi anyway. I realize there's already a thread similar to this one, but it was first posted nearly ten years ago ..read more

I became a vegetarian a few years ago for animal welfare reasons but continued eating dairy and eggs. My girlfriend said she had no issue with this change in my diet but said she would have an issue if I also cut out dairy and eggs.
About a month ago I read that christians should be vegans - links below. Since then I stopped eating dairy. At first my fiancée thought I had simply changed my diet but now she has realised I have in fact cut out dairy. She worries it will affect my health and...

When my mom and I went to Target the other day, we found this non-dairy Ben And Jerry's ice cream called Mint Chocolate Cookie. It's actually pretty tasty and reminds me of the non-dairy So Delicious Mint Chocolate Chip that we often get from WholeFoods.
I'm curious what other non-dairy ice cream flavors that I haven't had that I would like to try.
Any suggestions ..read more

This is a chili recipe that I use frequently, rather than making mom's traditional chili, which takes much longer. I make this recipe in preparation for Sabbath. It literally takes seconds to throw together and is quite tasty.
Freth's Quick 3-Ingredient Chili
1 28 oz can of Dei Fratelli All Purpose Italian Sauce
1 15.5 oz can of chili beans (hot in this version)
1 10 oz can of ROTEL diced tomatoes and green chilis (mild)
You can adjust the recipe to taste and...

Hi, a few months back I bought a book, The Elimination Diet by Tom Malterre. I began the diet and experienced considerable improvement in symptoms I'd had for years, mostly around fatigue and digestion. An online support program is also offered should a more interactive experience be needed to get you thru the diet. I didn't finish the diet as Thanksgiving and Christmas came along. But I'm starting the diet again on Jan 6th, this time with the online coaching component. The coaching isn't...

ABC Australia ran a segment on the pros and cons of following a gluten free diet. I found it interesting viewing. Thought to share. The broadcast can be seen at ~

Gluten is the new dietary enemy. Millions of people around the world are giving up gluten in pursuit of better health.
The believers say it can cure a wide range of diseases like arthritis, depression, even autism. But is this unprecedented uptake of the diet...
