Used this virtual card just for Lyca and cancelled it a while ago, today there was an attempt at a random transaction Can I stress that this hasn’t affected any other card, so I don’t believe it’s a device compromise. This was only ever used for Lyca exclusively ..read more

Does anyone want a Three (Sercomm) 4G+ Router? The first member to post a reply here claiming it, and then send a private message with their name and UK Mainland delivery address is welcome to have it sent out to them free of charge. It's been with my friend for over a year and sat by their window so does have some signs of use and rubberised parts on the back will show some discoloration from the sun. It's now been returned back to me following the rollout of 5G but since I already have... Read more ..read more

O2 Edge Issue

It would appear that O2 are trialing their congestion management system with EDGE in place of 3G, I’ve been getting stuck on it in the areas where I’d usually turn off 5G on O2 because it’s too congested It’s not uncommon to watch my phone rapidly switch between EDGE/LTE/5G and then settle on EDGE, eg: Anyone else experiencing this ..read more

New to 4G/5G broadband. Where to start?

I've been with Plusnet for many years and my contract comes to an end in a few months time. I currently get 60 download/15 upload. I can get full fibre to my house. I don't need the high speeds that are available, but even if I get similar speeds to what I now have it is quite expensive. I then came across articles about 5G broadband and the great deals you can get. I can't get 5G in my area but I've checked and have a very good 4G signal with all four networks. I've read that I can... Read more ..read more

I've been using a Mikrotik Cat 4 LTE modem as my main source of internet access for a year or so (I originally bought it for backup use, back when my main connection was VDSL). The performance on EE (1p Mobile) was very good for a Cat 4 modem, albeit I found I had to lock it to one band and keep it physically in one specific place for the best performance. When EE switched off their 3G service earlier this year, the 4G service became strangely unreliable on the Mikrotik, with it often... Read more ..read more

Roaming eSIMs Speedtests (in UK)

Thought it's about time to make a roaming eSIMs speedtests thread, since we can't really use the main network threads for it since they are roaming on our networks. Targeting UK specifically here since there are threads for the rest of the world already. This is Firsty (KPN NL) today on EE B3+3 and then on Three B28+3+32+1: I think the PoW did just a bit better... responsive browsing too ..read more

Just wondering if anyone else has had any fun building some of the items in the title, using LTE/5G as a backhaul instead of being limited by the connector... i've seen quite a few of the RC cars online and wanted to try and build one for a while. I imagine you can get pretty far with a Raspberry Pi and some kind of USB LTE dongle ..read more
