Have People Warmed Up To The Fenix EO1 V2 Yet?

I know the v1 has/had its following, and I purchased quite a few of them (and the E05) for myself and family members when they came out. The v1 is a good rugged little keychain light, but I could never get used to the purple beam. I’ve misplaced the E05’ through the years. So I picked up a E01v2 the other day just to try one out. I like the various lumen levels and decent runtimes. It has a nice aesthetic IMO. In my mind it’s something of a hybrid between the original v1 and E05, and... What “Event” Cemented In Your Mind The Need To EDC A Flashlight?

I’ve mentioned in other threads that I’ve been carrying a flashlight since “at least” the mid 1990s. I most likely had a flashlight on my keychain earlier than this, but it is in 1995 that I remember the daily carry of a flashlight becoming a priority. I was attending a conference. A storm hit a transformer, knocking power out to the hotel. None of the hotel backup lighting worked and a group of us found ourselves sitting in a pitch black interior conference room. When I realized the... What “Event” Cemented In Your Mind The Need To EDC A Flashlight ..read more

I’ve been carrying a flashlight on my person since at least the mid-1990s. 1994-95 - a little incandescent Maglite Solitaire on my keychain, AA Mini Mag and several D Cell Mags in vehicles and around the house. 2004-5ish - several Surefire lights for EDC, the brightest of these were advertised as blindingly bright, defense oriented flashlights at around 60-65 lumens. 2009 - my first LED flashlight (135 lumens). I was shocked at how bright and small EDC lights had become. Since... Funny How Perceptions Change - Sub 200 Lumen EDC [emoji363 ..read more

Headlamp with a medium or low output for 8 to 10 hours

I need a comfortable headlamp with a medium or low output that can last for 8 to 10 hours. This is for night fishing in a kayak where I need hands-free light. Don't really care about how strong it is on High, just either a Hi-Med-Lo or Hi-Lo mode. 18650, AA or AAA works. I would ask on BLF but the new format is so bad I can't go there ..read more

Anyone uses NECK lights ?

We all have headlamps, but the other day a mechanic was working on my car, and he was wearing this interesting light, almost like a pair of glasses worn backwards. And it had two 'flashlights'; one on each side of his face. I asked him and he said he bought them online. After looking at a few Youtube vids, I learnt there are many types, made by several companies, but they are all rechargeable. So, I am asking if there are any that use AA or AAA batteries, since I am not going to use them... Anyone uses NECK lights ..read more

Adding a grip ring to olight M1x?

I have an olight M1x striker, and would like to add a cigar style grip ring (or something similar) to help give me just a little bit more grip than I get out of the current stock setup. I've tried adding one from my old Solarforce L2, it didn't work. Looks like the thyrim add on loops won't work. Does anyone know of a way to add such a thing to this light ..read more
