A couple of years back. My bronco caught on ire. Thankfully I got it out,but almost cost me my life. As I got to thinking about it--hears my 3 reasons. #1 It had a big air breather on it. If I had --had a small air breather on it. I could have seen the gas puddles built up on the intake. #2 it had a electric choke on it--a loose connect could cause a spark--which can cause a fire. I,m going back to manual.. #3 on these new Holleys. The pipe feeding gas to the rear 4... Read more ..read more

I have a 1993 bronco with electric shift. Shifts into 4x4 then while driving it slips out of 4x4 and into neutral. Press button and goes back into 4x4. To test the electronics, I put it in 4x4 and unplugged the shift motor then drove it. It slipped out of 4x4 into neutral. Plugged the shift motor back in and put it in 2x4 and drove home. Years ago, it used to slip into neutral when driving in 2x4 ..read more

This rig has seen a lot of love over the past few years, and it's about to get a new owner this weekend. (Sale pending) Today I took it for a drive for the first time in a while, since the weather warmed up. I figured I'd make sure the A/C was still blowing cold...and it wasn't. I replaced the hoses and accumulator a few months ago, and had it recharged professionally. Compressor was good and blowing cold at that time. After letting it run for a few minutes (while driving) it... Read more ..read more

It’s time to fix my abs system. I have the module jump fix now for about 3 years but I want to fix the AB’s system correctly Does anyone know where I can send the medial for repair. I remember looking for places but most were closed or out of business. I have purchased a abs from eBay but it didn’t fix anything and I’d rather get the original repaired . Any help would be appreciated thanks ..read more

A neighbor of mine is selling his Bronco, it is a 1996 Ford Bronco XLT 5.0 V8 Automatic Transmission, 176,853 miles no rust White with Green center two tone paint. Rear tailgate and window function properly it has a half life left set of tires on it. It has power windows A/C which both work and electronic 4x4 control which works. Other than that its a typical Bronco no towing packages or offroad stuff. My father has been wanting another Bronco for sometime now and has been looking for one... Read more ..read more

84 Bronco....Rear window goes up and down painfully slow and stops partway in both directions. I can always pull/push it up/down the rest of they way by turning the t/g key. It has a new motor, gears/tracks have been cleaned, lubed and it has new little glide thingys in the tracks too. The dash switch has been cleaned and the grounds behind the dash were all cleaned and renewed too. Heres my conundrum: - If I give it juice straight from a battery to the window motor on the window side... Read more ..read more

New engine for '96 Bronco

Hi, I'm a newcomer to the forum and great to join the group. Just acquired a 1996 Bronco, EB edition, with 5.8L engine. In really good shape, with 211k miles from original owner/family. Just starting to think about restoration project, including a new or re-built engine. My mechanic is recommending a Ford reman engine (getting up to maybe 300hp), but others have suggested a new crate engine with something closer to 400-450hp. I like the idea of getting a little more power, but mechanic feels... Read more ..read more

Removable roof

When I had my bronco painted the guy painted the roof to match the trim without asking me. I wasn’t pleased, even though I don’t think it looks bad and I’m not sure why I Ford didn’t do that originally. However, my intent was to go back to original, so I am wondering where I could perhaps find a used roof to replace the one he painted? I guess I could have the one I have painted to the original but I don’t believe that’s a true paint on them ..read more
