The rod is bent and the seal holder looks a little bit fractured. Even the lock ring is out of whack. Still, I think it's fixable ..read more

Preferred sources for Hydraulic seal kits

I plan to help a neighbor repair a half dozen leaking cylinders on his JD 310C backhoe. Any preferred sources of seal kits or places to avoid? Priority is to quality then price. I'm familiar with cylinder repair but have not bought any seals for JD equipment, thus don't know where best to source. Thanks, Jim ..read more

Case SD100 Backhoe Hydraulic Plumbing

Hello everyone. I recently acquired a 3-point backhoe with no tags on it but I think I've got a positive ID on it as a Case SD100 or some other D100 variant of the Case backhoe. This one has what looks to be a homemade 3-point attachment system and homemade feet to act as downriggers. It has a 4-spool valve block on it and no hydraulic downriggers for reference. I think these were designed to use both for skid steer loader mount and 3 point hitch. I also found pictures of them on Case 360... Case SD100 Backhoe Hydraulic Plumbing ..read more

Bad pump vs Bad Rockshaft housing/seal

Hi all, Currently working on an old Eicher 364 and having a difficult time with the hydraulics. They worked briefly and then stopped when I tried to bleed them. Measured pressure at the pump output line is 200 PSI at idle, up to 1000 PSI at max RPM. The manual says it should cap at 2438 PSI. There are no leaks, and no filter (externally anyway) between the XMSN/HYD reservoir and the pump. I inspected the internals on the pump and everything looked good. Worried that its a rockshaft issue... Bad pump vs Bad Rockshaft housing/seal ..read more

I am looking for a small expansion tank for my project. Doesn't have to be new just stuck with the size. It needs to be about 3 in wide x 5-8 in long x 6-8 in high. Ideally cap would be offset to the right like the link below. Looking to hold about 1.5 to 1.75 qts. It only needs to have a .5 in port in the bottom to connect to my hydrostatic transaxle. 1.75 Quart Multi-Purpose Tank - Threaded... Source for a small expansion tank ..read more

Hi all, Spool valve will not hold pressure. My rear gannon hydraulic cylinder bleeds, will not hold it's position. My question is do I try to rebuild or just replace all three? I had no luck finding a replacement from John Deer. Can someone recommend a good aftermarket replacement? The tractor is a 1978 401C. I appreciate any help. Thanks, Vince ..read more

Me and my dad recently dragged our old case 830 out of the bush to get it working agian. We just replaced the old gear pump but found out it was the directional control valves for the hydraulics that were causing the issue. we replaced the controls but it dosnt work like we would expect, the second one in the series both lifts the buckets and tilts the fork, but the first control in the series only drops the bucket. when I pull the second one the first one's handle clicks back, why is this...
