Diving in sipadan expensive?

I haven't been to many places, and I currently reside in East Asia. Going to Sipadan from here doesn't involve much travel, so I'd like to ask if Sipadan is considered expensive when compared to the whole of Southeast Asia. I don't intend to stay in luxury resorts. From what I found, the simplest backpacker package costs around RM2,700 and includes one day in Sipadan with three dives. As I mentioned, I haven't dived in many places, so I'm not sure if it's considered expensive compared to... Read more ..read more

Hello all Looking for recommendations and suggestions for our 3.5 week trip to Malaysia in July 2024. 3 travellers - our daughter is 13, but do not dive, hence we need places, where she can snorkle and I would love for her to see turtles nesting and hatching, orangutan and general wild life. She also likes zip lines, rafting and fun parks. Trying to keep accommodation at 700 MYR or less/night not including food. Husband and I have already been to KL, Sabah and Sarawak - in 2008 -... Hi everyone, My sister and her partner are going to visit the Perhentian islands for a few days and asked me for recommendations on where to snorkel (they aren't scuba certified). I haven't been there and the previous threads I've found were dated/more around Scuba sites. So, could anyone recommend some good snorkelling spots and operator to go with (they need to rent the gear)? A good eatery recommendation would be great too thanks a million Nicolas ..read more

Malaysia COVID-19 panel recommends full border reopening in March Adding to Thailand's Test & go and budget flights in full swing and the Philippines reopening on Feb 10 and budget flights to Manila and Cebu available from the end of March, we will soon be able to travel to Malaysia on AirAsia just in time for the summer season! So Indonesia, we're looking at ya! (and Brunei too! you know I would never go to Borneo without diving your wrecks!) My plan is to catch the end of PH's... Read more ..read more
