Oil Radiator Unions confusion

Hi everyone. I've been scratching my head about my oil radiator. The unions seems to have some sort of conversion which keep coming loose and causing an oil leak. I have a 200tdi with a conversion from a TD before my ownership and I think it was done in a bit of a rush. Anyone know what's going on here? Is it a converter for the old TD pipes. What should it look like? I notice that on the radiator side, the holes are of a larger diameter so something must be up. How can I fix it and what... Read more ..read more

Hi fellas, I'm kind of new in the forum as I purchased my Defender Td5 110 (2001) last November 2023. Last week I executed "Option B" to remove the "3 Amigos" lights, I thought it worked but now I got another code that turn the lights back on. Here is the sequence of codes: 1. Originally my scanner (ThinkScan) shows these error codes: - Shuttle Valve Switch Long Term Failure. - ECU Ground Or Reference Ground Fault. 2. I did the "Option B" solution last week and the 3 Amigos... Read more ..read more

Hello all, I'm currently part the way through replacing my two front wing wiring looms. The O/S side it relatively easy to replace without removing the wing entirely - the passenger side however, is made harder by a duct being largely in the way [scratchy head, think] Progress was going well until I came against the 'C1266 - grey female' connector, adjacent the heater assembly, clipped up to the bulkhead...does anyone know how you separate it - is there a particular knack to it. I've... Read more ..read more

Morning all, The breather on my front axle is knackered, I suspect the rear breather is too - I've got a 1990 Defender 110 that started life as a V8 (Salisbury on the rear) - can anyone advise the part number for the breathers? Also, what's the correct oil for the axles? I figure I might as well give the old girl some fresh oil while I'm at it. Thanks in advance ..read more

Hi all New user here that needs advice on where to go for a new clutch fitting. Iv had my defender puma for 8 years now and never really had much trouble so never used anyone for maintenance as I do all my own servicing and brakes etc. But my clutch has gone now, it’s been a bit slippy and losing fluid slowly for a couple of months now so should have sorted it sooner. I think the slave has gone Pedal to the floor and lots of fluid underneath. So I think I want to change it all while... Read more ..read more

110 roof cracks

Hi folks, I have read a few posts, and I am not sure about my questions. 1997 110 5 door 300tdi. The front roof to A pillar screws weren't replaced after painting, the weight of the roof rack on the front corner meant it started to crack. I am trying to work out how the roof is actually made to make the best repair. Firstly, there seems to be a gutter made of thicker aluminium. Then the roof skin is thin aluminium. There are support bars cross ways which seem to have spot welds. And... Read more ..read more
