hi, all. Im new to the form. I'm trying to drop the oil sump on my TD5. There doesn't seem to be enough clearance. ( the defender is on axle stands). Should I jack the defender a different way to create a bigger space between the front axle and pan? ( i'm doing this to replace the oil pocket bolt). Any suggestions are appreciated ..read more

I have a 1993 D130 that has undergone a drive train swap. The original V8 was replaced by a 5.3 liter LC9 and 6L80 transmission. The shop that did the swap used a shifter from a Land Rover Discovery 1. It works, but the transmission is a 6-speed and the shifter only has 4 positions: D, 3, 2 and 1 (and of course P, N, and R). So it seems I don't have manual access to all 6 gears. Is this a common solution for LS/LC swaps? Since I normally drive in D it doesn't matter much, but since I live... Didn't think much of it, and knowing they had only been used once before, reused the bolts on installation. Well, when tightening, those same bolts seemed to turn more easily in the installation sequence than others. The feel to touch was that they may have had more stretch? In fact, I swear it seemed that the head of... Variability in Head Bolt Resistance ..read more

Hi Guys, its my first time here so I'm not sure if I'm posting right but I have this Land Rover Defender 110 1985 and I'm trying to install a new wiring harness, but here's the problem it had its engine swapped with a 2002 V8 Discovery engine. The V8 was modified to be carbureted and it ran without the ECU just fine, but the wiring was butchered according to my dad so he yoinked the whole harness out and tossed it. He bought a new harness for a regular 110 but its very clearly not going to... Question About a Tricky Wiring Problem (Defender 110 1985 ..read more
