As summer is here looking to put the bikini soft top back on however I need to find a home for the seat belt mounts. I have a rear hoop roll cage and I think that will be in the way of the cross bar the exmoor trim seat belt bar has. Any other suggests ? I did see mention of a wolf hoop that has the seat belt mounts included but I can’t find anything.  ..read more

On my rebuild, I ran the 200 tdi engine on Sunday to charge the battery and to see if the temperature gauge was working, while sanding outside. I came back in to find the temperature gauge in the red. So switched off. Top hose was cold so suspected the thermostat. I changed the thermostat and tried again on Monday. This time I sat watching the gauge. It again jumped from the 40 degree point straight to 120 degrees. Switched off straight away. This time the top hose was hot for about 15cm and then cold. The gauge is a VDO gauge and sensor which was working 12 years ago before the rebuild.

I know, another bloody daft question.
Regardless of practicality, when I have finished (Ha!) getting my truck moving again and have removed the roof, do I actually have to have doors fitted for an MOT?
Reason for asking - they may take me longer than I want to get sorted and if I can use it without them it (a) gives me time and (b) means I can move them around the country if I need others to do things to them.
Plus I'm toying with making it into an homage to the Pink Panther, so no doors is a given ..read more

Hi,
So today was supposed to be A Big Day. Mating the V8 and gearbox prior to fitting them.
But.
This does not look like the clutch in the manual. Well, more specifically, that centre bearing doesn't.
I appreciate there's a clue written on it, but I was assured when I bought it (a fair while ago) that it would fit. It, um, doesn't.
I have removed that circlip and pulled out the middle but I can't see any way of removing it.
Am I snookered here or is there something simple that I've missed? I hope the latter, suspect the former ..read more

Fitted new side and indicator LED units, appropriate relay etc (B.O.B supplied RDX stuff so not the cheaper no-brand ebay) and it is all working as expected.
Plugged in my cycle rack with integral lighting board (non-LED) which worked fine before, but now triggers all the indicators to flash at the same time on the 110.
I have no idea where to start, apart from the obvious convert cycle rack to LED bulbs, but is there something else more obvious I should be looking at? Earths? Relays ..read more

Currently got a britpart one in it.... I know the cables are good as thats new, the gauge is a TD5 one and its all setup. Manually moving the sender moves the gauge the full range and it does move up and down. However it seems to get stuck in the tank a bit and its certainly not reliable.
I assume the britpart ones just are a bit carp! Are any decent these days?
