My 130 front flares/eyebrows are a combination of paint and sparkle, and a bit ratty. I have a new, likely genuine set I bought from someone where they sanded one for paint, but left it at that. Does anyone know if the automagical sparkle will happen on the sanded flare? I assume its the UV that breaks down the smooth finish but not sure if the sanded one will ever match....what say you ..read more

Hello- New to the forum. I have just brought a 1993 110 200 TDI over from the UK. She has just finished a chassis off rebuild at Nene Overland. Was sat for a while after the refurbishment. Driven around 300 miles or so now and getting a noise from the transmission tunnel. Please see attached audio link- starts about 3 seconds in. Does not affect performance. thought I'd try here first, then place on ebay. FOR SALE NAS D90 SOFT TOP, RAIL TYPE WITH THE FIXINGS INCLUDING FRONT MOUNTING BAR. The top is very dirty (from poor storage) and has two mouse holes as shown. Windows appear to have not been used and come with the dirty carrying case. I know I am going to regret this rabbit hole. I can see it now. I need to replace some rusty parts on the frame of the 110. The bulkhead outriggers and probably the rear crossmember. This frame is strange as parts of it are amazing and others are rusty. At some time it looks like it had some kind of coating put on it that is now flaking in areas and trapping water/road de-icing and causing rust. I rebuilt my 1993 200tdi and it's been running great. Until very recently, it started on the flick of the key. Recently, and only sometimes (maybe 25% of the time), I have to stay on the ignition for a couple/three seconds to get it to fire up. Once it did, I had no problems. Based on that, I was already thinking the lift pump may be going.
