Hello, I have a Silicon Power external 2.5" USB hard drive. Recently it fell out of my hand and hit the ground. Now when I plug it into Windows 10 desktop, windows makes the beep that it saw a new device. But the HD never shows up in Windows Explorer. Previously it did show up automatically. Occasionally I also hear the drive make a squeeky sound. Also it no longer shows up in Mac's finder. Question: is this thing dead or might there be a way to get Windows to see it. I ask because it... Hi, i got a SSD "refurbished" and the hours on count is 6000 but the life "good" is 99%? I contacted the seller and he said they refurbished it and the hours is the OLD hours not the new after Sandisk? had done it before he sold itto me. So if 6000 hours, ir wouldnt be reading 99% , more likely 80% or much lower so could he be telling the truth but why didnt the manufacturer reset the hours if they put in fresh unworn memory chips if thats what wears out in "life%" . i have a RAID 1 array storage pool set up through windows 10, and one of the physical drives shows a red exclamation mark in DiskGenius. it told me there was damage to the partition table which it could fix. i clicked that, but when i go to save the repaired partition table it warns that i might damage the pool structure. i would think that with two physical copies of the data everything should be OK, but i definitely don't want to corrupt the data on a 10TB pool! so, is it safe to... saving partition table on RAID 1 array with DiskGenius ..read more

I changed that SSD (Samsung 870 evo 500gb), with 2 other ssd, everything works ok; I put that ssd in another laptop (hp 8570p), everything was ok; I reinstalled win 10, same problem; I cloned hp8570p, on hp8470p, same problem! Hello all . My wife and I was watching TV this evening. I came in to do a bit of work on my computer and the screen was white. I pressed every button and did control alt delete and nothing appeared on screen. I did a hard restart and the computer screen is still white. I tried pressing all the F keys but to no avail. I allowed my TV set top box to format my 1 TB external WD hard drive so I could use it to record TV programs through the box. It recorded several things over a month. When I finally went to plug it into my computer, the disk did not show at all in Windows 11 File Explorer. In the management tool for Disks & volumes, it shows No Label, File system RAW. Hardware for my new build has come in, but haven't started assembling yet. It's PRETTY! Okay so now I'm looking down the road a bit. I have a 128Gb SSD on my old computer, and after I fail at getting it tweaked into the new system, I'm going to wipe the SSD, install fresh Windows, and try to import the data back on to the SSD.
