Hi there. I have a Western Digital My Book Studio 2TB. One platter unfortunately has scratches and it kills heads, so data can't be pulled from there. My question is, does the manufacturer (I know that they're not in the data recovery business) have machines that can make the surface of those platters smooth again so that heads won't break? Machines not available to the general public or data recovery businesses, for instance what about the glide and burnish machine? Thank you ..read more

Hi everyone, It is common knowledge that after removing the plates from the disk (e.g. after the engine is seized, dirty, etc.) we must set the coaxial markers (with the number of plates 2+). While looking for information on this topic, i came across this link: https://www.dolphindatalab.com/product/ ... -training/ Does anyone know anything about this? I also met a lot of different opinions on the web about the methods that are used by this company. Apparently, the tips contained... Read more ..read more

Hi all! I had an issue with my WD Elements 4TB with PCB 2060-8000041-003 REV P1: no lights or spin when I connected the USB connector, only sometimes I've been able to make it work while bending a little the usb cable. I tought to fix everything opening the case and use a classic sata to USB adapter but this wasn't the case, here we have a different scenario... thank you WD After some search I've found the solution: order a new PCB and move the BIOS chip from the old PCB to the new... Hello guys, I was trying to recover files of a 1.5tb failing HDD using HDDSuperClone and I chose my external 4tb HDD as the destination for the image but didn't know HDDSuperClone deletes everything on the destination drive before cloning so my question is, is there any way I can retrieve the old files? They were replaced with the ones from the failing drive. I had over 2.5 TBs of data on the external one. It shrinked the size to 1.5 tb too. Any help would be appreciated as I have a lot...
