I took the plunge to get the GH3 just a few days after the GH4 was announced. Having played with it for a few days I'm happy so far.

Today I updated the Firmware for the camera and the lenses that I have from my days with the G1 and GF1.
I bought the camera in Singapore and the only lens I had with me was an old Leica 35/1.4 so I bought an adapter and tested it out.
I also tested some other...

Hi All,
I'm heading off to Costa Rica in Feb and still trying to figure out my best options for photography. I think I have narrowed it down to a secondhand Olympus 100-400 lens. Now looking for an affordable secondhand body?
I was thinking one of these options
Pansonic G85 cheap secondhand
Pansaoinc G9 is not so cheap
Olympus ME1 has various versions and prices.
Any advice from users of any of these cameras with this lens would be much appreciated ..read more

This is probably the first meaningful comparison I have seen. The video talks about some technical details that exist between the cameras, but for me the most important thing to hear was "No Winner - they are just so b..... good both of them". AF was seemingly very similar for stills and seemingly mostly with video. Some other tech details for video that In my personal opinion would not make me chose one over the other. The person talking talked about maybe an 90% success with the AF. In...

I am making a list of expectations now, to be followed by observations of how things play out. I am currently using a Panasonic FZ150 point-and-shoot camera, the results of which you can see in my gallery. I have learned a lot about photography and post-processing with this camera. On a nice, clear day, it can create nice images. It is also very easy to use and carry.
On its way to me is a used Olympus E-M1 mark ii and Zuiko 100-400 f5-6.3. Here are the ways I hope it will improve...

Tokina announced a 400 mm mirror lens which comes with a 2x TC for equivalent reach like a 1600 mm lens! The weight of the lens itself seems to be 355 g, what it would be with the whole kit ()including mount adapter) I do not know.

I have just bought the Panasonic GH4 AND 100-300 lens having been using my FZ200 for several years. I have taken some test photos at full zoom (both 600mm equivalent) with both cameras to get a feel for the new one. I was surprised and a little disappointed that the gh4 photos looked noticeable softer than those with the FZ200 and this was very apparent when looking at the images at 100%.
I had read lots of reviews forums etc before buying the new camera and lens and was aware of the...
