Mormon Apostates are Silenced
The Middle Path: Self Improvement
by Jayenna Wild & Cat Hawke
1y ago
Studies show that survivors of trauma benefit greatly from discussing their pain. Yet survivors of religious trauma are labeled apostates and shamed into silence. Honor Thy Father & Thy Mother
The Middle Path: Self Improvement
by Jayenna Wild & Cat Hawke

In Exodus, the fifth commandment tells us to "Honor thy father and thy Mother." If you were raised #christian then you were taught this as God's word. But what if you're also part of the disporportionately high group of Christians that grew up in an abusive home? Should you 'honor' abusive caregivers or defy God's commandment? Jayenna and Cat discuss this issue as it pertains to their personal lives and experiences in the hope it will help others. Support the show ..read more
