Teach Travel Tell has existed for over 5 years now and one of the main reasons I started the blog is because I wanted to show others that you can see this beautiful world even with a smaller travel budget. As I was reflecting on my goals, I realized I’ve never shared my personal travel goals & dreams to this community. This list is something that has been pretty consistent all this time, but as I accomplish some of these dreams, I know I will have some to add in the future! #1: Visit 30 Countries before I am 30 This has been a dream of mine since my early 20s and I was on track for this go ..read more

After my 2021 wedding reception, I decided to treat myself to a quick trip to Charlottesville, Virginia. You can read all about that adventure here. I explored Shenandoah National Park, downtown Charlottesville, and the Monticello wine trail. I fell in love with the area and was looking for an excuse to go back. When one of my childhood friends suggested a weekend trip, I suggested the Hollymead House in the beautiful north Charlottesville area.  Just an hour and a half from Richmond and two hours from DC, Hollymead House is the perfect bed and breakfast for your next trip. Acadia National Park has been a bucket list item of mine for years. It is located on the coast of Maine and allowed me to visit this beautiful state for the first time. My family used to drive from Atlanta all the way to Boston when I was a kid, hitting every state on the eastern seaboard but never Maine. I planned my visit in the fall because I knew it would be extra special with the leaves changing. However, I truly fell in love with Maine with all it has to offer and I can’t wait to visit again.  Transportation to Maine: The largest city in Maine is  the city of Portland. So this ..read more

I first visited Chattanooga over 10 years ago l for a softball tournament. During my first experience didn’t include much exploring outside the ballpark. As an adult, Chattanooga has been high on my list to visit, as it is only a 2 hour drive from Atlanta, making it a perfect destination for a weekend getaway. We stayed at the North Chattanooga Hideaway and it was the perfect location to enjoy all the city of Chattanooga has to offer.  I fell in love with North Chattanooga Hideaway, as it is centrally located to great restaurants and shopping. It also offers many indoor amenities once you ..read more

After our “second” wedding in 2021, I wanted to take myself on a mini trip before I started my new job. One of my favorite things to do when I take a solo trip is to explore  national parks. When deciding where I wanted to go, Shenandoah is one of the closest to Georgia and is easily reached by a car.  I decided to pair hiking/camping in Shenandoah National Park and ending the trip with wine tasting in Charlottesville  and it was the  perfect summer adventure before school started.  Day 1 – Travel Day: The first day, I didn’t get on the road until much later in the mor ..read more

Every time my friends and I have something to celebrate, we like to mark the occasion with a special meal. Atlanta does special occasion dinner spots so well that my list continually grows for this category. While these restaurants are a bit of splurge, , I have found that they are worth it for the delicious food and unique dining experiences. All of the restaurants on this list have entrees of $30+ or tasting menus at a fixed price. Many of these places have won James Beard Awards, NYT America’s Best Restaurants, and feature outstanding chefs and bars. Save these Atlanta special occasion dinn ..read more

Everyone knows how stressful it can be to plan/attend a weekend getaway with a large party, especially when attendees have different expectations and different budgets. This becomes even more apparent when planning bachelor/bachelorette parties. In 2022 alone, I attended 5 bachelorette weekends over a two month time span. Most of these were for friends from college, but all trips had attendees from different parts of the bride’s life , with varying budgets, and different size parties. This post is for guests, planners and brides of bachelorette trips. All these tips are things to consider befo ..read more

I polled my Instagram followers and they said they would love to see a blog post about what books I’m reading this year. My reading journey began back in 2018. That year, I challenged myself to read 12 books. In 2023, my reading goal is 45 books. My passion for reading has really enhanced these last few years and I’m keeping it going. Reading is a great “break” from reality for me. I listen to audiobooks during my commute or on walks. I read physical books during my “down” time between school and coaching and always before I go to sleep. Not every book I’ve read this year might be for you! Man ..read more

Instead of writing a list of goals like I do most years, I decided to make a list of 23 new/ hard things to accomplish! It’s very similar to a goals list but it also pushes me out of my comfort zone which I normally wouldn’t write on a goals list. 2023 finally feels like we will be getting back to “normal” especially with travel so I can’t wait to see where the year takes me! I will update this post as I accomplish some of these tasks. #1: Complete Orange Theory dri-tri twice #2: Complete at least one dry-tri under an hour ✓ #3: Run a 5k in under 30 min  #4: Run the Peachtree Road Race in ..read more
