Lizzie & Robbie were married “upstate” hosting their wedding at Lake Waramaug Country Club in June. As a NYC wedding photographer, the bulk of my work is in the immediate tri-state area and The Hamptons. On this particular occasion I headed north a couple hours to New Preston. This was definitely the first time I’d been asked to photograph a bride and groom water skiing the day before the wedding. It started to pour… everyone was soaked (including me), and it was amazing. What a great kickoff to their wedding weekend. The wedding day itself was a whirlwind of the emotions of getting ready ..read more

Stef & Kyle were married in Spring at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY. I kicked my season off last year with this amazing wedding on a perfect Spring day in May. Stef & Kyle’s day was packed full of emotion from beginning to end which is quite simply fun to photograph. There are some really nice moments with Stef and her mom and dad during the getting ready. While more and more couples are asking me if getting ready photos are necessary, I have to point to pictures like these. It’s really not about capturing makeup brushes. Not to mention it’s nice to have a second to get u ..read more

An Autumn wedding at Valley Rock Inn located less than an hour from NYC in Sloatsburg, NY. When you step through the barn doors onto the grounds of Valley Rock Inn, you are instantly transported into a luxe oasis of beautifully manicured landscaping, picturesque guest houses and a stunning tent all nestled under towering mature trees. It would be amazing to book a single suite much less the entire property for a wedding. Alyssa & Matt did just this, employing the help of Daniela and her team at Vision Event Co to produce a truly wonderful weekend to celebrate their union with friends and f ..read more

It’s not often that I post images from a rehearsal dinner, but this one was nicer than my own wedding LOL. I love being present at a rehearsal dinner because I get a chance to establish a rapport with key players before diving in to some of the most important photos taken in a person’s life. Maple Field Floral made Valley Rock Inn look just stunning for both the pre-wedding event and the big day. These pictures essentially took themselves ..read more

Rosie & Chris were married in December with a wedding ceremony at Church of the Resurrection followed by a reception at Westchester Country Club, both in Rye. With the winter air just crisp enough to remind us it was December, we were so happy to be able to take some photos outside on the patio of the WCC after getting ready just upstairs with The Luminous Bride. A central figure in the wedding was Chris’ vintage Volkswagen, fresh from restoration. What a cool way to roll off from their ceremony in the stunning Church of the Resurrection. Back at the club, Brian Kirk and The Jirks entertai ..read more

River Cafe Wedding : Brooklyn, NY

Rachel & Mike were wed at The River Cafe located on the waterfront in Brooklyn, NY in August. I’ve come to love Brooklyn Bridge Park for its almost zen like atmosphere. The 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is built adjacent to the park which happens to be adjacent to The River Cafe. This is an indisputable trifecta for getting ready, portraits and reception. On this, my second of five stints at the River Cafe this season, I was met with overcast skies which cast a pleasing calmness and uniformity to the images throughout the day. Having sun is nice of course but there are definitely pros to the soft ..read more

Gina & Ari held their wedding at Liberty House nestled in Liberty State Park overlooking the most spectacular lower Manhattan skyline view there ever could be. Getting ready at the nearby Hyatt Regency Jersey City, Gina and Ari spent time with their closest friends within eyeshot of he venue a few piers down. We had a glorious, clear July day which was warm but perfect. They enjoyed a first look by the water before the bridal party joined us in the old train station for a bit of a respite from the sun. It was soon time to return to Liberty House for one of their iconic back patio ceremonie ..read more

Veronica & Yakov were married at Weylin in Brooklyn, NY in March. This celebration led by Benor & Beik events was breathtaking in its scope as well as the family centered, positive energy throughout. It’s funny how when you’re in a cavernous space like Weylin, Gothom Hall or Cipriani.. it’s so big it’s almost… intimate? The space is so vast that you feel especially banded together with those around you. We started the day off right getting ready at William Vale before a first look in the rotunda and portraits on the street out front. A tisch and bedeken set the stage for the ceremony t ..read more

Housing works Bookstore Wedding: New York, NY

This off the cuff New York City wedding was held at Housing Works Bookstore in SoHo. It rained and it poured and that was just fine. My first wedding at Housingworks was many years (decade+) ago and I’ve always loved the vibe of the place. For a long while the bookstore was my go to spot for meetings. It was particularly fun to return here with a couple that was entirely focused on having a good time. With me dragging all my stuff and the bride in heels, we walked through pouring rain to a local dive by the name of 169 Bar to hang out for a few photos before kicking off the celebration.
