HDay at MIR - The East Coast Largest Honda Drag and Show Event

HDay is on a whole other level. I'm not sure why I hadn't attended this event before but as I started watching all their Pre-Event social media posts I figured I needed to check out this event. It was sold as the largest Honda event on the East Coast and it definitely didn't disappoint. On the drag racing side, it's been a long while since I had seen so many fast Honda's. When I say fast, I mean they're in the 7s down the 1320, which is crazy. I was expecting to see cars go into the 9s or maybe even the 8s, but for Honda's to break the traps at over 200mph and to be in the 7s was an incred ..read more

The end/beginning of the year is always an excited time cause that means it's time for the craziness that is Tokyo Auto Salon and the entire week starting with the Pre-TAS RWB Meet. Here's how things went It's always a sprint maybe next year I'll go for 2 whole weeks, maybe a month. There is always so much to do. This went like the previous, I land at Narita around 3pm after not being able to sleep on the plane grab a. couple extra people that wanted to tag along and see just how crazy my schedule is (like last year I took some people with me that had never done TAS) Ok, so back to things. Gridlife - Full Track Access Pass to Fun

This was not only my first time attending a Gridlife event but also my first time at Laguna Seca with Hot Track Access. I knew it was going to be a crazy day I just didn't realize how epic of a day it was going to be. That is until I stepped through that last fence line and was standing next to the track on one of the most famous corners of any track. The Corkscrew. Now I've shot trackside before on a circuit and drag strip and there is an intensity that as a car person that just instantly fills your passion meter. It's the smell of fuel and rubber, the volume of the car, the engine, the exh ..read more

Wow!! That's how I felt the entire time I was shooting this meet. This was the 3rd annual Honda Collective Meet hosted by PrimeNYC.co and Not Another Ricer with a special guest Joey from The Chronicles. This was an invite only type of meet with a very select group of people and cars that were sent the locations and times for the day. I basically had to apply and wait and was extreme lucky to receive one of these invites. 2 days before the meet. Remember I'm in SoCal and the meet was across the nation in NYC. I received the invite at 10pm and had my flights and rental car locked down within ..read more

Tsukuba Circuit - Idlers Sprint Race

For me Tsukuba Circuit is the ultimate track, not because of how technical it is, or the length or even the speed of the straights. This is the track I grew up racing and watching my favorite JDM cars compete and at the time try and break that 1 minute lap time. Tsukuba Circuit has just the perfect mix of straights and tight corners that make it the track for time attack numbers and the testing ground for the tuning of new/old cars. Growing up playing for hours on Gran Turismo trying to perfect every corner and every braking zone and of course playing with all the best JDM cars. Tsukuba Circ ..read more

The Best Car Show in Japan - Daikoku PA

Now I'm sure you've heard of this spot before, but if you haven't the Daikoku PA (Parking Area) is basically a big truck stop and rest area in Yokohama Japan.... and its by far the coolest place to see cars. It really doesn't matter if you stop by in the morning, during the day or at night. There is always something to see. For every trip where I'm based in Tokyo I make it a point to head over and hangout. Now typically at night is the best time when the most cars come out. Unless is a special day 86 day (Aug. 6) and etc. My plan is to stop by each night around 10pm, expecting to hangout ti ..read more

The Weekend That Changed Everything

What to do.... This weekend forced me to realize it was time for a change. So there are big changes coming, I'll get to what brought all that on but for now let's get back to how things started. I was at two different tracks over the long weekend, setting personal bests at both tracks, hanging out with friends and meeting some really good people. Buttonwillow was first on the list to start things off. This was a Friday event so the number of attendees was low. Speed District was the host of the event and everything for me and Project 71-109 went smooth. I was able to find a little more time ..read more

JCCS 2021 - Same Show New Location

JCCS or the Japanese Classic Car Show is for pre 1995 cars and typically held in Long Beach. This year being a little different the show was forced to find a new venue and ended up in the parking lot of Angels Stadium. Over the years the show has continued to grow and is a major event that shouldn't be missed. Normally the event is held in Long Beach and for some reason its always 90+ degrees out. This year like everything else like everything else going on was a little different. One thing that didn't change though was the outrageous line to get in. Arriving 30mins before the show was sched ..read more

Shop Tour - WRTeknica Open House

Starting the year off with a bang WRTeknica opened its all new shop. WRTeknica relocated to an absolutely gigantic new shop. I've never been to a shop that had so much space and that was so well laid out. Walking in it was hard to take in everything and I'm not even talking about the cars that were on display but the sear size and layout. There was a dedicated bay for the alignment rack, two full driving lanes that could be used to enter and exit the shop and storage racks for 12 cars stacked 3 high. Even with all the cars on display there was still plenty of room for people to roam, take p ..read more

SEMA 2021 -The Biggest Aftermarket Show Was Back - Kinda
Kana Racing

So last year we lost out on the SEMA show or the Specialty Equipment Market Association or basically where most companies and builders first debut their creations. SEMA is like competing in an Iron Man race this year I only attended the first 2 days and those 2 days consisted of walking more then 12 miles and shooting from sun up to sun down. All of that and I still missed stuff. SEMA is suppose to be a social get together for companies, shops and retailers to all meet and make deals, which one of these days I'll get to do, maybe. For 2021 it was earbuds in and straight to work. I started b ..read more
