Really grateful to Paul and the team at Type 2 Detectives for getting me involved with their YouTube production. I’ve produced a fair amount of film work for business and pleasure but when you’re working on a monthly basis working towards fairly regular output the enthusiasm of the people you are working for is infectious and we’re all having a great time fundamentally enjoying cars which is something which has wained a little for me in recent years. This episode almost bridged a gap between a couple of customers too as the Porsche 924 featuring in this episode I had seen at Pie Performance wh ..read more

The last job before Christmas 2023 and I was back at the wonderful Reeve Photography Studio to shoot one of my favourite cars of the year to come out of the Type 2 Detective workshop. A collaboration with the Artist Mr Penfold  who spray painted this whole car in his unmistakable style. What a pleasure to shoot and props to Type 2 Detectives and Mr Penfold for having the vision in the first place, looks amazing. The Hayburner magazine issue came out a couple of weeks ago and I’m super proud of the shots and pleased with the few that they chose. The hours that go into the edit to create th ..read more

What was on your bedroom wall?

As a kid in the 80’s, super cars? Bikini babes? Chances are a 930 turbo was in the mix somewhere, such an iconic dream car.  I still get a bit clammy behind the ears getting to shoot one, I don’t get to drive them far but a bit of carpark shuffle getting them into position. This is one of my favourites which I first saw at a Karmann Konnection event in Bradwell adorning its WTF 930 numberplate. Since working more recently with Pie Performance Porsche I’ve seen it more and more regularly until this point where the current owner decided to sell. Ive spoken on here how much I enjoy spending ..read more

Gosh That’s Special or GTS as you may know it

A GTS is a much sort after model for good reason. Production numbers are limited but the options are not and from new everything is included. I guess that cuts the buying process right down when all you have left to specify is the trim, paint and wheel choices. Oh wait, one last bold decision to be made and one the original owner of this gorgeous car decided upon. Yes even rarer with a 6 speed manual gearbox. The ultimate drivers spec in a stunning sapphire blue metallic. Could my camera love it any more. Popping like crazy.  991 GTS cabriolet shot for Pie performance in Suffolk.  Th ..read more

VW Samba in the Studio

Volkswagen samba shot for Type 2 Detectives. These shots were destined for a magazine but over a year down the line it is looking less likely now so I got permission to post up here. I get such a low volume of traffic anyway so if you are reading this I thank you and think of it that you are one of the privileged few to see them before they are (maybe) printed..  This samba is a literal shining example of why Type 2 Detectives are at the very top end of their game. I can never visualise if a particular car would look better in a studio environment or better placed elsewhere. Also the stud ..read more

A brave spec, for me anyway

I’m a grubby oik. I mean I am hygienic but if there’s an opportunity to get covered in grease/oil/mud/food I’m usually an unwilling participant. So much so that I could never own a car with a linen colour interior such as this gorgeous 991 C4S.  Shot for Pie Performance in Suffolk.  The post A brave spec, for me anyway appeared first on three50six ..read more

It was fantastic to be asked to help launch the new Type 2 Detectives TV Channel on their YouTube page. T2DTV will feature upcoming builds, road trips, events etc. I created a simple type based logo similar to a period numberplate style and titles to use throughout each episode along with animated logos and captions. I filmed, sound recorded and edited the main episode, scripted some elements and provided social media formatted trailers to tie it all together and build momentum ready for the launch. At the time of writing, the first episode shown here has over 21k views. A personal record for ..read more

As an accompaniment to a feature I shot for Airmighty Magazine of this sealing wax red double cab belonging to Lee Masters I also put together this short video. The first day of the shoot was rained off which was expected at some point but it was much earlier than the forecast predicted. So we met up again the weekend after to finish the photoshoot and it was absolutely glorious so we headed out to some of the local roads to get a bit of footage. You can subscribe to the mighty Airmighty Magascene Magazine through this link Check out the magazine feature using this link   The post 1966 VW ..read more
