My bustling Neolamprologus Multifaciatus shell dweller tank. Finally got them to stop breeding so quickly by avoiding finer food. Must say, they are easy to keep and very forgiving. Love to watch them ..read more

Found some beautiful Betta's in the local pet shop on Friday (not often that we see females) so decided to get some even though I didn't know much about them. Did a lot of research when I got home and was surprised to find that they are labyrinth fish (just like the gourami that I adore). Checking on them this afternoon I discovered that the male has already started to build a Nest. So excited Power is about to go off, will load pics when we come back on ..read more

Hi all, just thought I would tell everyone I have successfully managed to breed Otocinclus fish. This will be the forth time they have babies!!! My female is pregnant again and thought I would share some photos. Water Parameter: ph 7, temp 26, and basically I let let the tank go. Once a week I add flourish excel, as well as a like 1ml stability and 0.3ml prime. I only top up the tank with fresh water once it goes down by 1/4th. No weekly water changes.... ‼️I have bred Otocinclus Breeding Babies ..read more

I recently started 2 summer breeding tubs as seen on Rachel O'Leary's YouTube channel. I bought 2 x 110 liter plastic containers and set them up in a spot that gets around 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. I drilled drainage holes 5 cm down from the brim to keep them from over flowing when it rains. Then added water and plant cuttings, I have been saving from my other tanks. Also added floating plants, mosses and old vines. Hopefully this will help with spawning and providing hiding... Summer breeding project ..read more

Lake Malawi cichlids breeding "season"

Hi All As @TheGrissom mentioned that I should start a thread to document my Lake Malawi cichlids breeding. As research has shown that in the wild they usually spawn in seasons and in the tank it's usually ad hoc so it had come to me as a suprise when I got up a few days ago and noticed a mass spawn event. 4 pairs spawning in the same tank at the same time. What was more shocking was that even though there was movement around the tank and even noise by kids running around... Lake Malawi cichlids breeding "season ..read more
