I have had Mollies in my tank for months now... a male and a female. The male is always rubbing himself against the female and it's pretty obvious that they have mated... infact I've seen it. I saw one of my frogs, which I guess is a male, grabbing my girl frog's waist which means they are trying to mate. I have this gross little 10 gallon tank with no gravel and no plants. I was gonna clean it and add a couple of plants, is that good enough? Right now they live in a 55 gallon tank with 31 neon tetras, 3 pearl gouramis, a bristle nose pleco, and 6 kuhli loaches. Hello there! As some of you know, I'm working my way towards breeding platys, but I don't understand fish colour genetics. (Horses, yes, fish, not so much. lol. ) Assuming that my parent fish are all bred from a constant color in their pedigree, would this fry colour prediction be correct? I have a sword tail that for all the world looks like a female- robust abdomen, stockier than the males. Her anal fin has a long "sword" extending from it, but I don't think it's a reproductive organ. She has been in the tank (75gal) with 3 other red brick swords that I'm pretty certain are males for months.
