Hi all I took a pair of breeding storm clowns from My lfs about 1.5 years ago. They were laying regularly at the lfs. Moved them to their own 75l tank and they stopped laying. I have seen them lay eggs a couple Of weeks ago but the female ate them by midday the next day. This is the second time they have done this. Anyone have any idea why they are doing this and what I can do to help? They get fed pellets 2 times a day and frozen in the evening. Very fat and healthy by the looks of them ..read more

Starry Blenny Breeding

First post - I wanted to share this oddity of starry blennies spawning in less than ideal conditions and observations about the pair in general. This might be of interest to anyone interested in pairing starries. There wasn't too much information I could find on either pairing them or breeding them - there were 3 sparse documentations of hatching on the Marine Breeding Initiative but no documentations of successful marine culture Starry Blennies (Salarias Ramosus) that I could find. Female... Read more ..read more

What does ‘dracula goby’ eat?

I have a pair of Dracula gobies in my tank. They're not a pair yet, but I put in extra as a consolation anyway, even though they're expensive. But Dracula gobies don't eat anything. Some people are told to give them flakes, but they don't eat them either. People who succeeded in feeding them what did you give them? They don't even eat live brine shrimp. Can anyone give me some detailed tips ..read more

So not exactly fish breeding but there is a popular TikTok channel blowing up. A family decided to purchase a California Two Spot octopus for their son. The octopus laid eggs shortly after they got it. And very shockingly the mother is still alive and the eggs hatched. It's pretty interesting to watch. The user is TikToktopus. Thought it might be of interest to this audience ..read more

Buddy found new fish in his tank. New never before captive breed or hybrid?

My buddy raises clownfish and he found these in his tank. No new fish added for years. Stock is sailfin, tomini, yellow wrasse (I think Cori’s), ornate leopard, 2 pajama cardinals, 4 lyretail anthias, foxface, and a goby. It doesn’t look like a pajama. Did he just captive breed a lyretail or a hybrid wrasse/tang? Only pairs of anthia, tang, wrasse, and pajama cardinals. So it is either anthia, hybrid tang, hybrid wrasse, or pajama Currently eating small crushed TDO. ... Read more ..read more

This is my first time posting on this forum so first off HELLO! I have been fascinated with photographing and documenting fish doing courtship behaviors and colorations. My latest endeavour is the Midas Blenny since there is very little online about their mating besides the fact they follow the trend of male protecting the eggs laid in their cave/hole in the reef. I did find a video online of a diver who videotaped courtship in the wild and it got me hooked to see if i could get a better... Read more ..read more

Are my clowns paired?

So, I bought 2 tiny clowns yesterday. Hansel and Gretel. They were both in the same tank at the store and didn’t seem to be bullying one another. One is slightly bigger than the other. There was a little bit of aggression yesterday after I put them in my tank. However, they stick together non-stop. They even slept next to each other. Does this mean they are paired or are they still too young. I am assuming they are young because of their size. See video. Your browser is not able to display this video ..read more
