Hello betta fish folks! I’ve found lots of helpful info in this forum over the years and just registered to ask a question. I have only bred my pair of crowntails 3 times and got this unique looking male in my most recent spawn. They are 11 weeks old and all but one display like regular crowntails. I was wondering if I could keep them together when I am home, and maybe when I'm at school or not at home I could put her in an isolation net in the spawning tank. So this isn't necessarily related to breeding but more so a question about the genetics of certain colors in betta fish, specifically koi bettas with the marbling gene. My question is: Does anyone know why blue seems to be such a dominant color in marble bettas that have blue? Every single marble I have owned, and that people I know have owned, that have blue on them, eventually grow to have the blue spread and cover other colors, sometimes completely turning the fish blue. But I don’t see an egg spot, but it’s hard to get a good look. And it made a bubble nest as soon as we moved to the solo tank. I know females do this also sometimes.
