Hey everyone, I am applying for a government job in which they need exact dates of all moving violations and accidents in the past year. I know I have 3 speeding tickets from over 5 years ago and 1 accident in which I was not at fault and I did file a police report for (I do not have this report or any information from the report saved). Anyone know the quickest way to get these dates? I do not need any information besides just the dates and I am looking for the quickest turn around to get them knowing that going to a court in Hawaii is not an option as I no longer live there. Thank you all i ..read more

I used to go fish alot but haven’t gone in a long time, and wanted to find a new spot to try out. I used to go Ala’s and Kahala beach but wanted to try something different. I know alot of the guys who like fish over here get super territorial and I don’t want to piss anyone off, I just want to do catch and release kine. Is there anywhere else good for shore whipping for beginners besides Ala’s?

An audit, spurred by a Civil Beat investigation, is leading to policy changes at the Department of Accounting and General Services.
“We went through with a fine-tooth comb,” Kinimaka said. “Line by line, every expense, corroborated meetings and what was approved and not approved.”

Great job civil beat. Good job DAGS.

Okay so I went snorkeling in Maui at ahihi Kina. I accidentally swam over the rocks at the front that are covered in algae. Later that night I had red bumps at the top of my legs and belly. I woke up and they disappeared from there but are now on my arms and neck. Only my neck itche, no where else itched. What is this an should I be worried?

My family owns a very large house that is single- wall construction from the 40s. Its beautiful and historic but it gets hot, especially because the rooms are small with only one window each, and generally poor circulation throughout the building.
I'm thinking of installing AC window units. Have you had any experience doing this in a single-wall construction? Is it totally worthless because of the lack of insulation? Also thinking of venting the attic with a solar fan. Generally, what is to be done in cooling old style homes in Hawaii?
Mahalo for any insights.

Hawaiian girl living in California here -
I've been wanting to learn hula for yearssss now, and I finally found a halau that's pretty awesome in my area. I was told to bring a pareo to the first class (tonight!), only thing is I'm not sure how it's meant to be tied. Would it be acceptable for me to come in workout shorts/leggings for the first class? The halau will provide me with practice pa'u if I sign up with them, but that's in the future ofc.

I bought a Ford F550 on auction in California, near the port. I have never shipped anything other than a package. I tried applying for quotes (I think from shipping brokers) and the lowest one I got was 5k and most were in the 9k which seemed excessive.
I want to get the best price possible but it seems like the best would be to deal with Pasha/Matson and have possibly a towing company bring it to port?
I have to get someone who is familiar with picking items from auction and someone who is familiar with port drop offs. I have never brought anything to port.
Also I want to pick it up at port ..read more

For context: I live on the mainland.
My friend lives on the big island. He tried calling the dental clinics(apparently there are only two on the entire island) and they're booked until next year. He's had to go to the ER twice in a month just to get some antibiotics to help with some of the pain. But it's unrelenting. He's thinking it's possibly an infected root or exposed nerve. On top of the pain, his lymp nodes are swollen, and he complains of numbness on that side of his face. I'm terrified this will kill him if he doesn't get it treated ASAP. Is there anyway he can be seen sooner??
