Caught this little guy in Tybee island, Georgia. Didn’t recognize him from my other trips down there. Has a very upturned mouth that is hard to see in this picture. Reminds me of a tarpon.

It annoys me that lure manufacturers put the length (in mm) along the spine of the majority of saltwater lures when the information I really need readily available is the weight of the lure.

After years of using buckets, kitchen utensils, my hands, etc - I'm looking to buy a decent rake. I purchased one from a local shop a long time ago (not sure what model) and it didn't survive 2 years so I went back to bumming it.
Which ones do you all recommend that'll last for more than a couple years? Which ones should I stay away from?
And I'm even open to making my own if someone has experience and is willing to share their insights.

Hey guys, I have a CCP Gen III 13ft 8-12 and a Gen III 13ft 6-10 and I am not sure which tip section goes with which rod.
The spacing for the first two guides is different for each tip, one being approx 4” and the other 6”. If anyone has these rods and could take a quick measurement I’d be greatly appreciate and I make my blanks so this doesn’t happen again.
Thanks Jonathan

Hey all, I am a college student looking to get into the sport. So far I have learned the basics of the different types of rods, reels, and different styles of fishing. I do have some experience with a bait caster, fishing for red snapper and trigger fish in the Gulf. Being in boat will not really be an option for me. I will be in Boston year round and I am looking to pick up a setup that wont break the bank (<200) while also being decent quality and being versatile. If possible I'd like to be able to fish in both the harbor and the Charles. Surf fishing looks interesting but I am worried a ..read more

Need suggestions for a rod and reel size to use for lures on the surf. Right now I have 2 Penn battalions, a 10ft, & a 12ft. Looking for something I can get decent distance on some lures. Not looking to break the banks. Looking in the $150ish range. Thanks
