Found this cool porcelain stopper for a blob top bottle today. I like finding anything with names on it so I can date and look up history on it. It's probably from late 1800's to early 1900's ..read more

Hi all, Found this bottle at an estate sale this morning. It was up high on a shelf in the garage and required a stepping stool to get to it. It appears to say, along the periphery of the bottom: "BITTERQUELLE SAXLEHNERS." In the center, it seems to say, "HUNYAD JANOS" Any chance it's as old as it seems? Thanks, Ray ..read more

Metal detecting this morning. Found the harness ring, and while digging, found the Pepsi 10 oz bottle. It wasn’t very deep. Amazing that it didn’t break from freeze & thaw over the years. Appears to be a 1966 unit made in Alton, Illinois. The two items made me think of the old carnival game (with plastic rings). This is the newest item I’ve found at this site by far ..read more

It’s raining today so I finally cleaned up a few bottles I’ve found recently. The mint cola is 1918 I believe, not sure on the Pluto water with the devil on the bottom, the jones soda is in the 19-teens. Both the jones and mint col are marked Raleigh nc. Going back there tomorrow as I dug several applied top Pepsi bottles that had the tops broken. Those date to 1908 I think ..read more

Got out and dug a 7 foot privy with barely anything in it. Total sand pit. Just a couple shards of ABM and tooled tops. Getting kinda disappointed we got to the bottom and had to tunnel just a bit through some wood ash. Reached the corner and out pops not one but two Spittoons. With some flower motif’s on both. Salt glazed interior. Of course no makers marks. That’s all that was in the pit. I’ve seen pieces and parts through the years but never whole ones. And now two in the same hole...
