Hey y'all! While I didn't want to create a whole new thread to do this, I need some help choosing what to put in my 10 gallon tank. I have a lot of ideas but I don't want to overdo it and also I want it to look good. The options in the above poll are what I've been thinking about the most.
I know someone is going to say this, so I will get this out of the way, I'm aware that it is ultimately my choice, but I just need some help deciding.
Thank y'all in advance ..read more

So...many y'all can help solve this one. I went down to the local pond last fall and leaning off the pier scooped ~5 gallons of water into a 5 gallon bucket from near the surface (~6 ft deep off the pier). Also grabbed some floating leaves (couldn't reach the bottom) Wanted to get some critters to break off some live feeder cultures (scored some nice starters for a daphnia and scud culture! kept that going over the winter and been using it for free food).
Anyway, after drawing a few things...

Hey y’all! As some of you probably know, I have a 10 gallon quarantine tank with my Blue Diamond Discus pair in it. I’m soon getting rid of them (probably this weekend or the next) and would like to turn the 10 gal into a display tank. I’m fully aware that I’ve made threads on stocking for this tank before, but I wanted to create a shrimp thread for people who are in a similar situation as me.
I’ve kept different species of shrimp before, successfully…until the wrong tank mates ate them...

Hi guys, I wanna know what nerites these are because they have all sorts of patterns tho I found them mostly in one spot on a river. Habitat is on rocks, large river leading to a strait so probably brackish. It was lowtide while I was passing by and all covered with nerites, also found a few other species of snails. I collected atleast a hundred. Acclimated and quarantined them, they have like a 60% chance survivability when dumped into freshwater, I also got some before and those that...

A couple years ago, one of the local guys came over with a bucket of native freshwater shrimp from the island, I understand to be Macrobrachium.
Whenever he needs a little extra cash, he drops a bucket off, and I toss them in the sump, and some in the cichlid tank.
Over time a few crawl out, or kill each other, needing to be periodically replaced
Image my surprise when I looked in the sump this morning and saw this one lookin back.

Hello friends, I've recently become fascinated with snails. I've got a few mystery and nerites in my tank with a couple juvie chocolate cichlids and they ignore them completely. I know as with aggression and territorial issues, a lot can change from specific fish to fish temperament, and one day they might just realize that there are yummy snacks crawling around them. But it got me curious as to what other fish are snail safe, or relatively so.
I have a friend who keeps some with a...

I have a 150 gallon planted tiger barb tank. I also have a other 180 baby fahaka puffer tank, he's small he's less then an inch right now doing awesome. I added ramshorn snails into my barb tank about 100 of them.. about 1-2 months ago.. I see some bigger ones here ans there but zero babies.. are my barbs eating them? Or is the tank just so big it's hard to spot them? Bc I heard they breed so easily and I do not see that at all lol might have to set up my 10g just for them so I can use them...
