Tank is a 13.5gallon that has a few coral frags, snails, and hermit crabs. I was recently feeding the coral, and turned off the pump, and removed the hood (less light). I noticed when I came back (classroom tank do not see normally at night if that matters) numerous small sea stars(?), circular center about one inch in diameter white with five arms. I have a tank that is 3.5 weeks old... When I initially set up the tank, like the first couple of a days, I had a couple of these star fish on my glass at night... Now I have none. I do not know if it was do to dieing in the cycle, the crabs, or what... I asked about them at my LFS and they said that they are pests, will reproduce uncontrollably, and that I do not want them in my tank... I have a baby BTA and he has been fine barely moving around on this one rock and this morning I found him perched on my yellow polyps directly in the center of their colony.
