Tank is a 13.5gallon that has a few coral frags, snails, and hermit crabs. I was recently feeding the coral, and turned off the pump, and removed the hood (less light). I noticed when I came back (classroom tank do not see normally at night if that matters) numerous small sea stars(?), circular center about one inch in diameter white with five arms. They came from under the live rock, or in the holes of the live rock. What is this, and will it be a nuisance? (What I found closerst is a...

I have a baby BTA and he has been fine barely moving around on this one rock and this morning I found him perched on my yellow polyps directly in the center of their colony. Should I try and move him or just leave him be? I don't want him to kill the Corals and then them die off and cause problems in the tank. What should I do? If it's not a problem Ill just leave him ..read more

I got some great night shots of my harlequin shrimp flipping over his starfish and eating. Usually he drags it into his cave where you can't see much. Notice in the second shot how he uses his claws as a lever to flip over the starfish!
