Discovering the Game I first learned of School Idol Festival thanks to the Love Live! anime and being an unabashed Hanayo supporter. As if fate had conspired to draw me in further, I was fortunate enough to pull an Ultra Rare Hanayo early on that kept me playing that was my first mobile ..read more

The following article does not contain any spoilers. Feel free to read on.  Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, aka Hoshi no Samidare, is an anime that I had been eagerly anticipating. As someone who read the entire manga, I was excited at the prospect of the series gaining new fans. Its odd premise—normal people who become warriors to stop a giant biscuit hammer from cracking the Earth—is hard to forget. But then, I started seeing less than stellar reviews. Seeing how online reactions lamented a low budget that did not do L&BH justice, I watched the first episode with a good deal of tre ..read more

Of the many things I miss doing during this COVID-19 pandemic, there’s one that really stings: the inability to go out with friends and sing anime karaoke. I live in an area that normally has a number of multi-language karaoke options, and prior to the current crisis, it was a great way to both socialize and fulfill the desire to belt out giant robot openings. However, between the need to social distance and the fact that singing is actually a very effective way to potentially spread the virus, it’s just an incredibly bad idea to be in a karaoke box. After nearly a year, I decided to see if I ..read more
