Tandemkross 10/22 Trigger

I have always used the trigger that came standard on my 10/22 rifles. I bought a few Tandemkross products that I like on my 10/22's and I feel they're worth the cost of the upgrades instead of the standard bolt, bolt release and charging handle and the upgraded pins that hold in the trigger group etc.. I have been Toying with the idea of upgrading the trigger on my 10/22 but never having upgraded the stock trigger and of course both triggers are single stage, has anyone else ever upgraded... Mounting the Picatinny or Weaver Rail (To Locktite, YES)

Recently bought a new 10/22 in stainless and of course Ruger says not to use Locktite when mounting a rail on the rifle, Wrong. Anyone that owns a rifle or pistol knows that without a little blue Locktite on the scope mount it Will work itself way loose. I've always used blue Locktite on all 3 of my 10/22's with no problems. How I have done it is to remove the trigger group and the bolt. Once that's done I spread a little blue Locktite on a paper plate and line up the rail on top of the... Read more ..read more

Not a Ruger but has potential

I recently bought a 9" barrel 22lr AR platform 'pistol upper' at a very attractive price. Today, I had a chance to zero the red dot and see if it was suitably accurate. Cheap dot optics are often twitchy with adjustments and even the SigSauer was a bit hitchy but I got it dialed in with 10-12 shots. A bit of rain was approaching so I called it good enough and sent the last 6 shots toward the 8" 100 yard swinger. Six for six with a 3 MOA dot and a bit of gusting wind is not bad if I do say so... Combinations, one is a KMK512 and the other is a KMK678GC that I located recently after a long search. Neither have bad triggers out of the gate but both can be improved so I took them both to my favorite gunsmith to have Volquartsen target triggers and sears installed but while that is happening, I thought I'd ask the forum what if anything significant, I can expect from them in terms of # of pull, crispness of release, etc. Anyone with experience who can weigh in will be greatly... It doesn't get shot much, mostly stays quietly in the safe but I just wanted to test it out today. I fired 150 rounds of CC-SV and 50 rounds of Blazer. Shoots great. Now I get to clean it. Ruger Mark III with 5.5 in. TacSol barrel with a Tandemkross Game-Changer Pro compensator and C-More Slide-Ride sight with 12 minute dot. Volquartsen Accurizing Kit gives it a 1 pound 2 oz. trigger ..read more

Some Clean Mark II pistols.

Yes! I am a winner today! Last weekend I cleaned about 6 guns, mostly revolvers and my Browning Buckmark. That one has been a while since I took it apart. I'd forgotten about the pieces falling off when you remove the grips. The little tab that keeps the magazine dis-connector in place as well as the bolt stop level. But today I tackled my two Mark II's. I knew they both needed to be disassembled and cleaned. They were starting to jam. Usually I clean them without taking them apart. But... Read more ..read more

'63 Single Six Magnum

I have been offered a 1963 Ruger Single Six Magnum (so marked on the frame). It has a 6 1/2" barrel and from the pictures, does not look to have a lot of bluing wear. It has been converted (wish he had not done that), but all the parts are there to put it back to original. I need to go take a look at it and determine if I am willing to give what he is asking. I don't think he is out of line on the price, but was wondering if a magnum only Single Six commanded a higher price and what... Read more ..read more

Steel Challenge With 10/22 Today

Shot a Steel Challenge match today with my Ruger 10/22 and really enjoyed it. This is a very light gun weighing in at just over 3 pounds. The Tactical Solution barrel is 16 inches long but only has 11 inches of rifling. Receiver is Ruger from a friend that gave it to me for Christmas. Trigger is Power's Custom and is set at 1 pound 3 ounces. It's been reliable for 900 rounds so far. I'm still breaking this gun in with CCI Mini Mags. Weather was perfect today at 92° and...
