Mexico City Water to be shut off TONIGHT Wed, 19 June @8:00pm-until 2:00am

The majority of Mexico City will be without potable city provided running water, starting this evening 19 June 2024, from 8:00 pm until 2:00 am, for repairs. Find some extra jugs to hold water to flush the toilet, etc. The areas in town, including Roma Norte, Condesa, Centro etc (mostly all of the city) which all uses the Cutzamala Water System, that will be shutdown for repairs. If your accommodations have a water storage unit, it should last overnight. If the repairs take additional time/into another day, the backup water may end up being depleted. I am looking for some recommendations' as I am struggling to find answers reading within existing post. Background: I will be in Cancun in few weeks time, as 5 nights couple short holiday, flying in from NLU (will be in CDMX before and after) and based on some advice by a Mexican friend of mine that has visited Cancun several times, I have been looking at the northern part of the Hotel zone. We would ideally be looking at 4 stars minimum, ocean side beach access as top priority, and maybe at least Breakfast included (some advice here about available outside local breakfast options in the area ..read more

I haven't tried this, so have no idea if it actually works. But the link below tells you how to get it, and it's supposedly it's different from the CDMX Free Internet Access Points you find around the city. Supposedly, you should follow the directions below: 1. Open WiFi settings on your mobile device. 2. Select the "Infinitum Mobile" network. 3. Choose your access method: *If you're a telmex customer authenticate your identity with you account *If you are not a customer, provide a phone number, name and email to connect to the network for free 4. Once connected you have unlimited browsin ..read more

Just a heads up, if you're visiting this weekend, in certain municipalities throughout Mexico, the dry law will be in effect this weekend for the Presidential Election taking place on Sunday, June 2. No decision on CDMX yet. But be prepared, and purchase before the stores stop selling. Usually, the dry law doesn't affect restaurants/bars. https://mexiconewsdaily.com/mexico-e...cos-elections ..read more

I don't see a master thread for TQO Tulum - mods, please redirect me if appropriate. Will be flying in and out soon. Curious about arrivals and departure experience, immigration kiosks, wait times, and car rental process. Also VISITAX. Anyone have early experience? Hoping it is less crowded than CUN, but also assume it will be slower as they work out the kinks? Thanks ..read more

Has anyone applied recently for Viajero Confiable? It's the Mexican sister program to Global Entry. I applied about a week ago - here. I didn't get any acknowledgement by email and there's no way to check status AFAIK. Also not a lot of chatter around the web, e.g. Reddit, about how useful or accessible this program is. Not much to go on in this forum either, hence the new thread. I flying to MEX in 2 weeks - is there something I can do there ..read more
