Went to the beach again, chilly, windy and a perfect day to fly a kite. Met a few guys detecting, all Came and only stayed about an hour. This beach is hunted allot from locals and out of town folks every week. I know that I will get allot of push-back from some folks by Making this statement. I will put my AT- MAX , full sensitivity, all metal mode, in the wet sand , against the Manticore and Deus 2 ,digging and recovering deep targets. Recently did the factory trade in for a new AT Max. Been playing around with it at the local park and already like it better than the AT Pro. I'm about to hit the US Gulf coast and want to try it out on the beach; some of the videos show it to be a rather decent detector even in the surf. With my ATP I generally gave up on surf hunting and just used my Infinium. This looks like it may do the trick. Went to the woods a couple days ago and set my Max to the All Metal mode and ran the disc to 35. After ground balancing, frequency adjustment and sensitivity adjustment, I kept on getting hit’s on iron vdi #’s from 5 to 35. Don’t understand why, must be missing something. Got out to a soccer field for a hunt with the At Pro. Found $2.77 clad and a 925 ring. Pro zero, no disc, 2 bars down from max sensitivity, stock coil. Ring gave a solid 83 vdi, no fluctuating, down a couple of inches. GL&HH ..read more
