I have recently acquired a Garrett Master Hunter ADS 1 Groundhog from the late 70's early 80's. It looks to be in perfect condition. I had to get a new battery tray from Garrett, could not find the old one. I put 6 brand new Duracell batteries in it and inserted the tray. It powers up but I can't get it tuned so that it will react to any metal objects. Added these to my growing museum collection. I have never used these machines before. I just like the old ones. I picked up 5 machines as a lot locally last year. Nothing special, but they are just cool because they still work. Only one of the crossfire coils worked. I found a used 10" Hothead coil online for a little over 30 bucks shipped. Hay there, I’ve had my detector for about 4 or 5 years now but just started using it about 2 1/2. I pulled the batteries out about six months ago and today placed new rechargeable batteries today but wouldn’t come on.
