Model and actor Brooklyn Decker will be the featured speaker when Gaston County Rotary clubs, Rotary International and the Belmont-based Promise for Haiti organization host a gala evening at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardenraising funds to complete and equip a children’s wing at a hospital in Haiti. Impoverished children in one of the poorest regions of Haiti will be the beneficiaries of the event, which will kick off a campaign to raise $206,000 for the hospital project. Gaston Dance Theatre, led by former student Camilla Bullard, is  presenting a new take on the classic Cinderella. The new production will feature piano music, contemporary and classical dance, and more. Performances will be at  7 PM  April 19 and 1 PM and 7 PM on April 20 at Gaston Christian School. Gaston College’s softball team completed its 14th doubleheader sweep of the season with a workmanlike effort in 11-3 and 8-3 victories over Brunswick Community College on Friday afternoon at Gastonia’s CaroMont Health Park.
