Paly’s Boys’ Baseball team played a close game against Mountain View, but ultimately took a loss with a final score of 5-4. “Overall it was a letdown because we know that we are better than that,” Isaiah Walker (‘25) said. Despite the disappointment of how the first official game of the season went, the team has been doing pretty well overall so far in the season. “We’re a pretty young team, but we’re looking great so far,” Dexter Cleveringa (’25) said. This season, the varsity team is home to five underclassmen, and only has three seniors leading the team. With promising performance in the p ..read more

Coming off of a strong year, falling just short in the CCS Open Division championship against St. Francis, Paly baseball is positioned to have yet another successful season.   With the team having lost 10 seniors just this past year, the start of this new season will be a learning curve, forcing younger guys to step up with a relatively small senior class. Pitcher Sam Papp (‘23), a UC Davis commit, will be sidelined this year with a UCL injury, a huge blow to the pitching staff. This injury opens up spots for younger players like Vinnie Braga (‘24), Nate Donaker (‘24), and Henry Harding ..read more

Paly baseball lost their season opener to Serra, 4-1, on Thursday afternoon. Henry Harding (’25) got the start on the mound for the Vikings and held the Padres in check for most of the afternoon.  The Padres struck first, tallying two runs in the first two innings, but Harding quickly settled in after. The best inning from the sophomore pitcher was the 4th when he set Serra down in order, beginning with a strike out swinging, and capped off by two nice plays from second baseman Zach Thom (’24) and Charlie Bates (’24).  In the 5th, a one-out bloop single to left field by Serra would ..read more
