      Fred “Charlie” Brown passed peacefully, April 15, 2024. He was born Nov. 29, 1946, to Felix ‘Bud’ and Laverne Brown.       He attended school in Holbrook, graduating from Holbrook High School in 1964. He was a member of the Roadrunner Band, also playing varsity football. Wrestling was his passion, and he was a state wrestling champion in the 180-pound division.       Nellie Estella Simms went to her eternal heavenly home April 19, 2024. She was born April 27, 1930, in Parkersburg, W.Va., to Joseph and Estel Life.         Within days of a foreign exchange student arriving in his home, Levi Andrew Jackson, 40, of Clay Springs, began exhibiting inappropriate sexual behavior toward the 16-year-old boy. Within weeks, Jackson escalated to committing serious sexual offenses.       The Winslow Police Department received three reports of theft during the period of April 8-14, according to dispatcher reports.
