Saturday evening turned into a wonderful bash when my work went on display at the Chris Nordin Studio Gallery in Ann Arbor, alongside Chris’s beautiful glasswork and art from several other artists. The crowd was lively enough to raise the dead as they enjoyed refreshments, good company, and great original artwork from local artists. My artwork will be on display in the gallery through November 12, 2023. The reception was a frightfully spooktacular affair. It was a graveyard smash! There were creepy couture connoisseurs, wickedly well-dressed witches, ghoulish glamour ghouls, and devili ..read more

I had a fun and exciting trip to Texas this year, with shows at The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival as well as well as Art In The Square near Dallas-Fort Worth. Both communities were very welcoming and receptive to my artwork. The icing on the cake was an award I received from The Woodlands for “Best of Show!” What a great welcome to the Lone Star State! Nature is where I find some of my best inspiration. I love being in nature, and natural, organic shapes often speak to me. So it is no surprise that there is so much nature inspired artwork in my collection. Whether it is light playing through the leaves of trees, rocks worn round by centuries of water, microscopic organic structures, or even piles of debris after a massive storm, the natural forms all around us have a beauty and a story to tell. Inspiration from Light and Color Let me just say I love earth tones. My favorite colors are the colors in nature. That’s not to say I don’t appreciat ..read more

Have you ever wanted to hang multiple pieces of artwork together, but you weren’t sure how? This is a favorite way I like to display artwork, and it is very popular among fans of my art as well. When Artwork is the Same Size Grouping art pieces is more successful when the pieces are the same size. Although this is not necessary, it helps to make the grouping geometrically consistent. For pieces that are the same size, groupings can be created in a grid, or pieces can be staggered for a more creative presentation. In the examples below, the pieces in the grouping are tied together by shape, siz ..read more

Muted Colors Artwork

Artwork with bright colors is exciting and makes a huge statement. But sometimes what you need is muted colors in your artwork. A subdued color scheme may be just the thing to create a more elegant design. Monochromatic colors—grays, blacks, whites, and possible other soft, subtle colors—also match well with almost any design scheme. These art pieces are worth a look! Big Olive in Garden Pavilion Two wall sculptures add delight to this corner, especially when the sunlight bounces off the brushed aluminum. We couldn’t decide which piece to hang here!
