A little About Our Owner Mindi…
Mindi grew up always loving animals. Her first word was for a litter of stray kittens at age one and she grew up bringing every critter home. She grew up in rural Zionsville and was a 10 year 4-H member and showed horses through college at Taylor University. When she met Kyle, while living in Tyler, Texas, they knew they were meant to be together over their shared faith in Jesus, and they both brought rescue dogs to the marriage! Her love of Australian Labradoodles was started when her beloved grandmother called her to turn o ..read more

Registering Your Pet's Microchip
Have you taken steps to ensure your pet can be safely return to you in case of emergency?

Puppy Training
Confined Spaces
New puppy parents frequently do not want to put their puppy into a crate or confined area. Think of your new puppy as a baby. A baby needs to be in a playpen, bouncy chair, or crib if not being held. A puppy needs to be in a pen, a crate, or a baby gated room that has been puppy proofed. I also tether puppies on a leash next to me. I might put the hook of the leash around my ankle or a chair leg, etc. If a puppy is near me, I can praise them for good behavior and correct negative behavior. I put 3-4 toys around me to entertain the puppy. Puppy does no ..read more

It is a place of safety and comfort to your puppy very similar to a “den” or “cave” that dog’s would live in if still in the wild. As I can trust my puppy to have more freedom, I might limit their crate time and give them more freedom. Think of it similar to moving a baby from a crib to a big boy bed! I still recommend putting puppy into the crate periodically so they can remember that it is a safe place. You never know when you might need to put your dog in a c ..read more
